CASE STUDIES

The project

Newcastle Live worked with Civic Digest, a partnership between Newcastle Regional Library and the Civic Theatre, in May 2016.

An Australian-first contemporary library, cafe and bar, Civic Digest offers patrons a creative hub and ambient space to engage with information and culture.

When Samantha Wilcox approached Newcastle Live to promote the opening of Newcastle’s newest café the key goal was to promote the official venue launch and create public awareness.

The project

Newcastle Live collaborated with Wallsend Diggers to promote the launch of their new bar and live entertainment venue - Mezz Bar.

Our message was to promote the Mezz Bar as a stylish and modern establishment that offered all the positive aspects you would find in town, with the convenience of being located in the suburbs.

The campaign

The campaign Newcastle Live ran for Civic Digest included website and newsletter advertising in conjunction with a two-week social media campaign.

The content focused primarily on the revolutionary idea behind the cafe and it’s unique features: “In an Australian first, Civic Digest represents an evolution in library service delivery with digital screens, apps with library-provided content and high quality WiFi.”

After a successful launch campaign Civic Digest continued their promotion and advertising by taking a two-month follow up package to promote upcoming events, menu features and brand awareness.

The campaign

Our campaign featured two weeks of website display staggered with a newsletter campaign and four-week social media campaign.

The package was divided into two: the first half focusing on the launch night with the second half focusing on what the venue had to offer: regular live music, craft beer, cocktails and share plate menu. By dividing the campaign into two we were able to promote the launch night and follow up with a gallery of the event.

With the success of the launch campaign Newcastle Live now work regularly with the Mezz Bar to promote and advertise their venue and upcoming entertainment.
