ICP MEDIA
IPC Media is the UK's leading consumer magazine and digital publisher
ICP media was founded in 1958 in London. IPC media has more than 60 iconic media brands. The institution creates content for multiple platforms, across print, online, mobile, tablets and events. As the ‘leading consumer magazine and digital publisher’ ICP engages with 26 million UK adults -almost two thirds of UK women and over 40% of UK men. Their websites of websites reach over 25 million global users every month.
IPC media would be a good institution to use for my magazine. Although they have two music magazines already one is labelled as an ‘indie rock’ magazine (NME) and the other one (UNCUT) is more labelled as a ‘classic rock’ magazine. Which leaves an opening for the genre I am focusing my magazine on – country pop.
BAUER MEDIA
Bauer Media own two music magazines which are ‘Kerrang!’ and ‘Q’. Which are current popular music magazines. Bauer media would be a good institution to use for my magazine because neither magazines have genres of country music.
Bauer Media are a publishing and broadcasting institution based in Hamburg, Germany. They distribute products to Europe, USA, China and Russia. Their turnover in 2010 was 2.129 billion euro. It’s subsidiary companies are Bauer Radio and Box Television in which it has a 50% stake. Since the company was founded in 1875 it has been privately owned and managed by the Bauer family. The worldwide circulation of all of Bauer's title magazines amount to 38 million magazines a week. Bauer started in the UK with the release of ‘Bella’ in 1987 and became the third largest publisher in Britain. It further expanded in the UK by purchasing Emap Consumer magazine and Emap Radio in 2008 to become the UK’s biggest publishing group.
