Media evaluation

Media technologies we have used Throughout are media production we had used a wide range of different media equipment one of the main ones being the high quality camera. Another being the tripod and the editing suit which helped us put all of a work together. As I had done media in GCSE I was familiar with most of the equipment and as we have to create a TV show I also knew the basics when it came down to editing out opening title sequence. However, as it is not GCSE there were more complicated things to comprehend when editing and therefor we had to get used to the new ways of doing things. Despite this me and my group managed to create a very good oepning title sequence with dramatic music to create tension and fast paced chase scene to keep the audience focused on watching the rest of the film. Another big step from GCSE to A level was the use of analogue camera to digital. However this was a good thing as the digital camera can get a lot more in-depth shots and a higher quality picture the camera that we were using was the Cannon 700D. As well as it getting better quality shots it was also easier when putting the footage onto after effects as it only required putting the SD card into a card reader

Media technologies we have used

Throughout are media production we had used a wide range of different media equipment one of the main ones being the high quality camera. Another being the tripod and the editing suit which helped us put all of a work together. As I had done media in GCSE I was familiar with most of the equipment and as we have to create a TV show I also knew the basics when it came down to editing

out opening title sequence. However, as it is not GCSE there were more complicated things to comprehend when editing and therefor we had to get

used to the new ways of doing things. Despite this me and my group managed to create a very good oepning title sequence with dramatic music to create

tension and fast paced chase scene to keep the audience focused on watching the rest of the film.

Another big step from GCSE to A level was the use of analogue camera to digital. However this was a good thing as the digital camera can get a lot more in-depth shots and a higher quality picture the camera that we were using was the Cannon 700D. As well as it getting better quality shots it was also easier when putting the footage onto after effects as it only required putting the SD

card into a card reader

Foley

Another part of was the sound. The picture from the camera was brilliant however the camera could not cut off the sounds in the background, things such as wind, birds and cars. This is when we used Foley. Foley is when you record the sound you want within your film in a recording studio and later on edit the sound to the part you want. For example within our production we used the sound of car doors closing even know you couldn’t see us, this was so it would give the illusion that we were in a car. As there were limited spaces in which we could record where there would be total silence we had to go to the music room where they have apple Mac computers with the garage band software which allowed us to to have high quality sound. We used foley for such things as footsteps when there is a running scene background noises and even when there is speech as the sound of the wind originally corrupted the speech in the first place.
