OUR SECOND LOCATION

ISOLATED PARK.• As a group we decided to use a

secondary location to enhance our thriller opening, however we hope through editing to make it appear to the audience that the locations are within a close proximity.

• The isolated park we plan to film in will highlight to the audience that the protagonist has been restricted from civilisation.

• This isolation will help highlight the storyline as our character is mentally unstable, therefore she is overwhelmed by the vastness of her surroundings.

RESEARCH OF THE LOCATION.

As a group we decided this location would be best as it was easily accessible for all of our group members due to the fact it was within a 15 minute walking distance.

We know from our local knowledge that the park is a popular attraction for the public as a result we chose to visit on a weekday and early in the morning so that we could film during a quiet period. This helped us avoid the possibility of getting members of the public in the background of certain shots.

HOW DOES THIS LOCATION RELATE TO OUR THRILLER OPENING?• Our character has been held captive for a long period of time, we want to show that she is alone even when she has escaped.

• The abandoned surroundings cause our character to become paranoid as she is convinced she will be captured again.

• We plan to lower our lighting in the editing phase as the low key lighting will suggest danger in some shots rather than having naturalistic lighting continuously.
