The first image shows how the picture looked before any editing, the first step of development that was taken for our double page spread image was to blur out the left hand side person. The reason for this was because we wanted to place the article on the left hand side of the spread, blurring out the picture made it clear that this particular image wasn't incredibly important.

The next thing which was edited was the same image but this time we faded out the image so the left hand side of the double page spread was a different colour and quality to the right. My production group and I needed to do this as we needed to make it easy to distinguish which image on the double page spread was important and which wasn't.

The right hand sided image was enhanced in terms of brightness so it looked a more professional quality and enlarged as we wanted this image to fill the whole half of the page as it is the main image and the most eye catching aspect. Another reason the image was enlarged was because she is holding a mobile phone and our topic for our documentary is to do with a mobile phone obsession so this links together.

Next step of development for this image involved changing the left hand side image to black and white; we wanted the right image to stand out as much as possible.
