CHEMICAL TANKS
MMC Trimode Gauging Tape CLOSED
The Portable Closed Flexi-Dip measuring tape is a
battery-operated electronic unit that is totally gas-
tight. When installed in a vapor-control valve
mounted on a storage (cargo) tank, it forms a
tightly sealed system that prevents toxic vapors
from escaping and creates a closed gauging system for that tank. The tape is marked in metric or
english units and is anti-static coated (as is the sensor). In addition, the tape is color marked to make
tape direction and motion easily seen and to ensure full rewind position. A coiled grounding cable
with large alligator clip is standard. This closed
system is recognized by many worldwide
regulatory bodies as equivalent to a fixed
gauging system as long as the tape remains in
the valve from the beginning until the end of
loading or discharging of the tank.

Measurement Accuracy are performed in
accordance with the instruments and
procedures in NIST Test No. 250972 and MIL-
STD-45662A, and in a manner that meets or

MMC Trimode Gauging Tape RESTRICTED and OPEN
Restricted and Open Gauging Tapes provide a
convenient and accurate means for measuring
ullage, product temperature and the oil-water
interface. The units are configured to operate in the
trimode, bimode, interface or temperature mode.
Each instrument is designed to maximize ease of
use. A single penetration of each tank can provide
comprehensive data about internal tank conditions.
When the electronic probe senses hydrocarbon, a
steady tone is heard; when sensing water, it emits
an intermittent tone. Temperature is shown on an
LED display in the hub of the instrument.

PORTABLE ELECTRONIC TANK GAUGING THERMOMETERS
TP9 Petroleum Gauging Thermometer
IECEx/ATEX certified intrinsically safe
The TP9 employs the proven RTD design that has
been used in the TP7 and TP8 for many years. A
sealed industrial quality overlay provides a user
interface that is easy to use with gloves. A stainless
steel enclosure protects the circuit board and large
LCD from penetration by impact, water and
reactive liquids.
The new TP9 circuit board is an evolutionary step
up from our highly accurate, reliable and successful
TL1 laboratory thermometer. The Power Button’s
primary function powers the instrument for
intervals of about 20 minutes since the last button
was accessed. The Power Button can also be used to
conserve power and clear the memory, or to make adjustment while in calibration mode. A simple
menu operation is displayed by holding the Function Button, and alternately functions to allow
adjustments in the calibration mode. Arrows on the left side of the display show the direction of the
temperature reading and whether stability has been reached. At the user’s discretion stabilized
temperatures can be logged at numerous liquid levels for a running average and later displayed for
the user’s documenting purposes. But this feature never interferes with simply getting an accurate
temperature reading.

TL2 Two-Channel Bench Top Thermometer
The TL2 is a 2-channel precision bench top
thermometer offering a higher level of metrology
accuracy in a very affordable package. The TL2 is a
complete NIST traceable system that is ready to
use, right out of the box. Based on successful TL1-
R technology, the TL2 has been developed for
laboratory applications demanding high precision
reference thermometry with the added versatility of
2 channel measurement. To fully realize the
benefits of 2 channel measurement, the TL2
provides data logging capabilities with the
convenience of PC or USB flash drive interface.
The ergonomic design and large display make the
TL2 ideally suited for use as a calibration reference

The TL2 calibration software creates

TL1-A Reference Thermometer
IECEx/ATEX certified intrinsically safe
The TL1-A intrinsically safe thermometer is
intended to be used anywhere a precision glass stem
thermometer or other type thermometer may be
used.
The TL1-A is an improved version of the original
ThermoProbe model TL1. The TL1-A incorporates
glass thermometer simplicity and reliability with
the ease of a digital display. Like precision mercury
thermometers, the TL1-A has accuracy,
repeatability and long-term stability. But unlike
those thermometers there will never be problems
with mercury separation or hazardous material
cleanup. Different from most electronic
thermometers, the "Cordless" TL1-A has no wires
to get in the way or break. Battery replacement is
easily done through a sealed cover. Encoded
calibration is unaffected by temperature, vibration,
or battery removal. Low battery display, and failure

TL1-R Reference Thermometer
IECEx/ATEX certified intrinsically safe
The TL1-R thermometer is a compact reference
thermometer with accuracy comparable to
instrument systems costing twice as much. It has all
the features of our standard TL1-A plus a higher
level of accuracy. It can be used in applications
where extreme accuracy is required. The TL1-R is
also perfect for metrology applications and as a
calibration reference thermometer. It is an
extremely accurate portable hand held instrument
that is ideally suited for field applications and
indoor laboratory uses.
The TL1-R uses a precision, 200 Ohm wire wound
platinum resistance temperature sensor and attains

Windingframes strong brass frame with wooden handle (chemical safe), long foldable winding arm which locks into
position. Specially designed for tank dipping tapes. Tape rolls out at the front. Tapes more then 40
metre cross-frame advised.
Dip-weights Dip-weight in the form of a rod, terminating in a truated cone at the lower end. This cone provides
the necessary of 'touch' in dipping and it penetrates sludge
more easily. A stainless steel tip on the brass dip-weight
prevents wear down. The dip-weight is connected to the
tape in a fixed way (by means of a screw).
The graduation in mm. continues on one flat side of the
dip-weight, ensuring there will be no 'blind spot' where the
tape is connected to the weight.
Stainless steel dip-weights are intended to use with
stainless steel tapes. Brass dip weights are to be used with
carbon steel and polyamide coated tapes.
Dip weights available in 400 gram for watery like liquids, 700 gram most common one for oils and
fats and a 1000 gram dip weight.

The zone sampler can be

The valve opening of the sampler is such that it is also suitable for
taking samples in thick liquids.
This sampler has been specially designed for drawing samples at any
required level.
When lowering the sampler with a certain speed the liquid forces the
bottom and the top valve of the sampler upwards, the liquid is
allowed to flow in at the bottom and out at the top. When the sampler
reached the required level the sampler comes to a standstill the
bottom and top valve closes automatically.

designed for taking samples at the bottom of tanks.
The bottom sampler is lowered into the liquid to be sampled using a
chain or a rope. As soon as it reaches the bottom, the valve at the
bottom of the sampler opens and the liquid flows into the cylinder.
Bottle sampler
The Bottle Sampler has been specially designed for taking running and
zone samples.
The clasp is swung back and
the sample bottle placed in
the cylinder after which the
stop is inserted into the
bottle. The bottle sampler is
lowered into the liquid at
any desired depth, the stop
can be pulled out by tugging
on the line.
The sampler consists of a
closed cylinder around the bottle, so that the bottle is protected and
potential breakage residues do not end up in the tank. The strengthened
bottom ensures that the sampler is also suitable for thicker liquids.

Sample Can
This sample can has been specially
designed for drawing samples at any
required level of thick liquids and for
draftsurvey.
Insert the plastic bung with mild pressure
in the pouring mouth. The bottle sampler is
now ready to take the sample. The sample
can is lowered into the liquid, at any
desired depth tugging on the line can pull
out the plastic bung.
The sample can is easily disassembled for
ease of cleaning and it consists of a seamless cylinder with a screw thread at the top,
with a stainless steel clasp. The cap has a wide pouring mouth such that it is also
suitable for taking samples in thick liquids. In the pouring mouth fits a plastic bung
witch is mounted on the clasp.

Water Finding Paste Kolor Kut
Kut water finding paste is
golden brown in color; upon
contact with water Kolor Kut
turns a brilliant red. Kolor
Kut Paste successfully
gauges all petroleum and by-
products for water content
and accurately indicate the
water/product interface.
Kolor Kut may also be used
in sulphuric acid, nitric acid,
hydrochloric acid, soap
solution, salt and other chloride solutions.
When water is present, Kolor Kut water level indicating paste shows exactly how
much, enabling you to pump out the precise amount from the tank. The absence of
colour change by the water paste is your dependable guarantee that no water is

Modified Water Finding Paste Kolor Kut
Kolor Kut Modified water
indicating paste has been
designed for use in methanol
and ethanol enriched fuel
systems. Alcohols are
soluble in fuels in all
proportions when they are
water free, but relatively
small amounts of water can
cause separation of alcohol
from the fuel. The mixture
settling to the bottom of the
storage tank is predominately alcohol and cannot be detected by standard water
detection pastes. In addition to detecting this mixture of alcohol and water, Kolor
Kut modified water paste will indicate the presense of water in regular fuels.

Gasoline Finding Paste Kolor Kut
Kolor Kut gasoline indicating paste is a
light pink color which turns to a bright
red upon contact with gasoline, naphtha,
kerosene, gas oil, crude oil, jet fuels and
various chemicals. A very effective
indicator of top level of product.
Use of Kolor Kut gasoline level
indicator paste ensures a highly accurate
reading when gauging gasoline storage
tanks. Simply spread a thin coating of
gauging paste on a tape or gauge rod
where liquid is likely to appear before
lowering it into a tank. A sharp line of
demarcation at the product interface is instantly shown.
