The280W-Doffersthemostadvancedwaterflowmeasurementbyusingstate-of-the-artultrasonictechnology.Itsflowsensordoesnothaveanymovingpartsthatcanwearortear,whichprovidesarobustandaccuratemeterwithnomaintenance.

Thetechnicalspecificationsofthe280W-DmeetthestandardsforresidentialutilitymeteringwithitsClassDperformance,operationaltemperaturefrom0.1°Cto60°Candsafetytemperatureupto95°C,aswellasnominalpressureof1.6MPa.Thewidedynamicrangeallowsforaloaduptodoubletherating,therebyensuringhighoperationsecurity.ThelargeLCDcandisplaytheflowtotal,leakagealarm,reverseflow,andmore.Themeteralsohasaremotereadoutwhichcouldbeconfiguredaspulse,M-BusorRFwireless.

ThewPrime™serieswatermeterhasusedadvanceddigitalsignalprocessingtechnologytopreciselymeasurethetransit-timeofeachultrasonicpulse.Astatisticalgorithmisalsousedtocounterinterferencewhichcouldcomefromsolidsorairbubblesinthewater.Theflow-cellisoptimallydesignedaccordingtoourpatentedtechnology,sothatthemultimodereflectionintheflowtubeissignificantlyattenuated.Itallowssignificantincreaseinsignalstrengthandquality,thus,therobustnessofthesystem.Theflowratecalculationisbasednotonlyontransit-timedifferenceandthegeometryoftheflow-cell,butalsoonfluiddynamicstheory.

Onlyultrasonicpulsesareusedtointerrogatetheflowwhichenablesthemetertohavenomovingparts.Therefore,thereisnothingtowearoutorcauseareductioninaccuracy.Inaddition,theprincipleisbasedonthetransit-timedifferenceinsteadoftransit-time,alltheinterferingfactors,suchasthetemperature,pressure,solidsconcentrationandwaterquality,arecancelledout.Theendresultisthatthesystemisinherentlyrobust!

Operating PrincipleThewPrime™serieswatermeterconsistsofaflowsensorandanintegrator.Theflowsensorisaflow-cellmadefrombrass(figurebelow.)Twoultrasonictransducers,AandB,arefirmlymountedontheflow-cellatoptimalpositions,withtworeflectorsinsideoftheflowtube.Theultrasonicsignalgeneratedbyonetransducerisdirectedtowardtheflowdirectionbythereflectorbelowit.Whentheultrasonicsignalreachestotheotherreflector,itisredirectedtothetransduceraboveit.Therefore,eachtransducercanreceivethesignalsentfromanothertransducer.

Anintegrator(orcalculator)controlsthetwoultrasonictransducerstotransmitandreceiveultrasoundinanorderlyfashionsoastoconductpreciseflowmeasurement.Specifically,theintegratoroperatesthetwotransducerstosimultaneouslytransmitapulseofultrasonicenergyintothewaterflow.Thepulsesignaltravelsalongtheflowandreachestotheothertransducerundertheguidanceofthetworeflectors.Obviously,thedownstreampulse(fromAtoB)travelsfasterthantheupstreampulse(fromBtoA).Thetraveltime(ortransit-time)differenceofthetwopulsesisdirectlyproportionaltoflowvelocity.Therefore,theflowratecanbederivedfromthetransit-timedifferenceaccordingly.
