My story begins on July 7th, 1968 in San Diego California. Born to

Senorina Vazquez and Thomas Diaz, I grew up in the eclectic

neighborhood of Little Italy, where I had the opportunity to nourish

amongst people of Puerto Rican, Mexican, Italian and Portuguese

descent.

My wife Sofia and I met in February of 1997 on our last day of school at

Meric College. Sofia and my children, Alexis, Amelie, Andoni and Alek have been the catalyst of my

success as a Probation Officer, Police Officer and a Detective

Sergeant; my family motivates me to be the best husband, father and

friend I can be.

I enjoy working with youth and I had the opportunity to make a difference when I began working as a Probation Officer. I

continued working with the youth when I transitioned to the San Diego Police

Department and was able to establish my own program (Banning Police Activities

League) when I moved to the Banning Police Department.

I believe people will say that I strived to make our community a safer, more enjoyable place to live and that I took the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth.

I have 4, Alexis, Alek, Andoni and Amelie Diaz. My goal is to inspire my children to surpass the little that I have done in my career. If my children succeed, then I will have succeeded.
