The tagline- “Her dreams. Her terms” implies that the dominant female character positioned in the centre frame has to get through many obstacles in order to reach her dreams. This also suggests that she plays a strong-minded, ambitious and determined main character.

The images behind the dominant female character, features clips from the film; this helps to establish the narrative of the film.

This image indicates that there is romance involved in the storyline.

In this image the female character appears to be taking part in a dance class. Her white outfit makes her stands out from everyone else in the frame and suggests that she is the dance teacher.

All of the mini images behind the main character feature Honey with curly hair whereas in the image of her centre frame she has straight hair which looks as though it has been professionally styled. This implies that the narrative is of her journey of becoming a dancer.

The image of the famous rapper Missy Elliot is used as a unique selling point; this will widen the target audience by also gathering Missy Elliot fans to watch the film.

The title of the film is in a bold sans serif font in white with rounded edges ; this makes it more suitable for the lead female role. The white colour connotes that she has an angelic like personality- caring/ sweet like honey?

This says “soundtrack featuring new music &hits from Missy Elliot, Fabulous, Jadakiss and Sean Paul this indicates that the film is targeted at fans of r’n’b music.

The colours used in the poster are gold, black and white. The gold emphasizes the title of the film- "Honey” because it is a similar colour to the substance honey. Wearing a black outfit is commonly associated with being classy and serious , therefore it connotes that the head female character is strong-willed and eventually reaches her goal which is to become a professional dancer.

This particular image is of a wall covered in graffiti. This suggests that the main character journey to success began from starting off in a disadvantaged residential area in the city. This is a conventional aspect of a dancing movie as street dance started within the streets.

This image links to the image of graffiti behind the lead character, it suggests that she somehow helps create a good impact on the youths in her community.

The main colours used are black and red. In this context the colour black indicates an evil presence in the world of the film. The title of the film is in red , this connotes violence and death especially as the character in the centre of the frame is known for playing a sadistic killer.

This poster includes many symbolic features from other well-known scary films. For example, the t-shirt with the words written, “ I see dead people” is the most significant line that is said in the film Sixth Sense, plus in the centre frame the poster the character “ghostface” from the famous American slasher film, scream , is sitting in between two other people in a cinema holding a bucket of popcorn; this introduces the genre of comedy to the film, it is uncommon to see a killer relaxing at a cinema . This is a very conventional aspect of a parody film poster.

The exaggerated facial expressions shown in the poster mainly express fear, this a common convention of a parody movie. However, two of the other viewers in this poster of people in a cinema, looked confused and not at all scared.

All of the characters featured in this poster are teenager/ college student age therefore, it will attract mainly teenagers to watch the film; young target audience.

This female characters heavily exposed cleavage implies that the film may contain sexual references. In addition to this, her indifferent facial expression suggests that she plays a ditzy character ( dumb blonde personality?). This is also another conventional factor of a film poster for a parody film as they rely on stereotypes in their films.

The tagline satisfies the audience’s curiosity on whether it is a spoof film, whereby, “no mercy” refers to the violence within the film, and the “no shame” could be interpreted as the characters having to face embarrassing or awkward situations- typical of a parody.

The release date allows people to plan to go and see the film.
