Gold, silver fall sharply for third straight day

Copper falls after U.S. data

Silver slid sharply for a third straight session Wednesday, dragging down gold, on

follow-through selling after the exchange raised margin requirements for a third time in a

week. George Soros' big $28 billion firm and some hedge funds have been selling gold

and silver. Copper fell to its lowest since mid March on Wednesday as investors worried

that tightening monetary measures in China, signs of slowing U.S. growth.
