Member Committee Presedent
AIESEC in Ethiopia 1516
I am having mixed emotions when I am writing this introduction message to
this one simple document but which can majorly decide the future of AIESEC
in Ethiopia. I don’t know if I have to be happy or sad. I can’t be happy
knowing that this experience is almost 7 months closer to the end. But at the
same time, the idea of empowering someone to take on your role keeps me
on my toes, very happy and excited
The past 5 months have been full of life turning points for me. This experience
was the fastest learning platform I have ever took up in my whole AIESEC
career. With this role I have been through lots of ups and downs, but what still
surprises me is how much I have grown through the 5 months which I can
compare to 5 years of education and research. As my team stand says, ‘No
matter the wounds , No matter the praise we move!’ and this has always
inspired us to keep moving and flying to get to our ambitions and dreams. And
now it is time for someone with a shared or better vision but with more
passion to take on the role for the generation 1617.
Being a leader will always challenge your thoughts, values and molds you in
to this person you even are surprised to find yourself at. Specially being an
MCP of an entity will always be something that I would recommend for
anyone who wants dare themselves and get a rewarding experience. I cannot
lie to you, but this experience will be really challenging and experience of
putting yourself to be someone holding hope and dream of many Ethiopian
youth. It will help you test yourself and develop your leadership qualities of
self awareness, solution oriented, empowering others and being a world
citizen while on the role. Most of all, this role is for someone who can dare
himself /herself to bring out the best in the entity and the plenary through this
defining role. By opening this document, you have taken the first step.
Finally, I would love to congratulate you on taking this bold step to apply for
this life changing role. I am sure you won’t regret it as there are Ethiopian
youth who are looking for a great source of inspiration and a platform to
empower themselves. And what better to do it than through this Member
Committee President of AIESEC in Ethiopia 1617 role?!
Wish you best of luck.
Ethiopia has rich cultural heritage and is one of the best kept secrets in the
world. Being one of the oldest countries in the world, Ethiopia’s great
geographic diversity encompasses a land of rivers and deserts, mountains
and lowlands. Today it is Africa’s second most populous nation and home to
80 ethnic groups who speak 84 languages.
Capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa is known as the capital of Africa due to it
hosting the head quarters of the African Union, of which all but 1 country in
Africa is a part of. If you need a visa for any country in Eastern Africa, or any
country in Africa for that matter, you should come here. It is home to the
largest market in Africa, has gorgeous churches, cathedrals, and mosques to
see, and incredible night life. Fore more info please check out our
