WINTER MUSIC CONCERTS December 1, 2015 Grades: Kindergarten , 1st and 2nd @ 5:30pm
December 3, 2015 Grades: 3rd and 4th ,Choir and Bucket Band @5:30pm All students please arrive 30 minutes early.
We will also have a bake sale during all concerts as a school fundraiser.
PICTURE “Retake” DAY Picture “Retake” Day will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, starting at 8am. In order to retake pictures:
1. New student, since picture day. 2. Have paid for pictures, but want them retaken. MUST bring in
picture packet (with old photos) from this school year. 3. Student/ Staff was absent and never took a picture.
IT’S TIME FOR OUR
ANNUAL “ CARING AND SHARING” FOOD and ITEMS COLLECTION DRIVE!
November 9th-November 20th Students will join their classes in competing to see who in each grade level can bring in the most nonperishable food items, new hats and gloves, and gently used blankets. The winning class in each grade level will get a special reward. The food collected will go to a few McKinley families and local agencies to help make the holiday celebration a little more merry!
MAGNET SCHOOL APPLICATIONS November 1-December 15, 2015
Any parent interested in sending their child to a magnet school. Applications will be available from November 1 to December 15. They may be picked up at any SBCSC school, completed on line or at the Education center located at 215 S. St. Joseph Street.
FUNDRAISER Now through December 1, 2015 we will be selling the SAVE AROUND Coupon Books for $20 per book. These coupon books have over $200 worth of savings and include coupons and discounts for restaurants as well as local businesses (ie Dick’s Sporting Goods and Shoe Carnival)

Mobile dentist is coming on 1/12/16 and permission slips will be sent home with students.
ART: DONTATIONS NEEDED I need bases for totem poles for 2nd. 3rd & 4th grade classes will be making. Items like plastic coffee containers, ice cream tub, drink or protein mix tub, or any sturdy plastic container 2 pounds or bigger but not like milk gallons.(Too big). THANKS, Mrs. Wyne, Art Teacher

Please contact “Nicole” at 283-8570 or via email if you are interested in making a difference at McKinley. Meeting are only 4 times a year.
MCKINLEY VISITORS Any VISITORS in the building (morning or afterschool) need to sign in to the building. Any classroom volunteers must complete a volunteer orientation with NICOLE before being in the classroom. Also, all volunteers must complete a new FREE LIMITED CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK, even if you filled one our last year.
MYSTOP – Transportation Tracker Students and parents can track the movements of the student’s bus and know when it is approaching, or has passed the student’s stop.. This information is almost, but not quite, real time. Be sure to have students at their stop at least 5 minutes before the recommended pick up time.

PARENT PORTAL What is PARENT PORTAL? Parent Portal is a way for parents to track their students grades, attendance and keep in contact with your child’s teacher. Where do I get a PARENT PORTAL Access ID and Access Password for my child? You need to go in person to your child’s school, so they can verify your identity and give you an Access ID and Access Password. Only legal guardians may pick up access information.
CHRIST CHILD REFERRALS If you are in need of a Christ Child Referral please contact NICOLE at 283-8570 or via email at [email protected]. Please remember to bring your photo ID with a current address, children’s birth certificates, Social Security Cards, and clothing sizes for all children who live within your household ages 0-13. The Math Academy helps students with their math, from those working on multiplication and division to those struggling with their calculus homework.
