How inclusive is our Sixth Form? What study facilities are available for Sixth Form students?
The Sixth Form is a very inclusive environment both socially and academically. We have expanded the number of vocational courses we offer considerably over the last few
years to accompany the well established traditional A Level subjects.
We have a vibrant and dynamic student body and play host to many overseas and exchange students. 15% of our Sixth Form students come from other schools and we continue to welcome external applications. Use the application form attached to apply.
The dedicated Sixth Form Centre is linked to the Lawther Library. Students are given priority to use the library during the school day where they have access to desktop computers, laptops,
private study facilities, textbooks and a wide range of journals.
Our common room and café facility has recently undergone considerable refurbishment. The Sixth Form Centre also boasts a media suite and radio room equipped with Windows
based and Apple Mac computers as well as accompanying DJ equipment to help service our own radio station.

Enrichment opportunities
Students have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of enrichment activities that broaden their cultural experiences. Students will study General Studies. This aims to challenge their perception
of the modern world. PSHE lessons encourage the students to consider their social and emotional well-being.
On Wednesday afternoons, students participate in a wide range of activities including film and reading clubs, sign language induction, voluntary work with social concern groups, primary school visits, rugby,
football, and many more. Whatever your interest beyond the formal curriculum, there is something enriching for everyone to become involved in.

Guidance and support
All students are assigned a personal tutor who will offer one-to-one guidance and support through their time in Sixth Form. This will include a full programme of study skills to help students meet their
individual targets, as well as preparation for university, further education and employment.
Students and their parents will be both informed and supported throughout the Sixth Form. We monitor each student’s progress in relation to academic targets and this is reported regularly to parents.
