Specialized Heat TreatmentAll raceways are heat treated to a minimumof 58 HRC. Inner studs are induction heattreated to McGill’s specifications to providea hardened raceway and a ductile stem thatprovides toughness for absorbing theshocks of cam follower operations.

The LUBRI-DISC® SealInvented by McGill, the LUBRI-DISCseal has been shown to reduce costs by pro-longing bearing life. The seal helpsextend bearing life in three ways:

1. Labyrinth and contact sealingprotect against loss of lubricant andhelp prevent entrance of contaminants.

2. Vents help prevent seal blow-outduring relubrication.

3. Integral backplate design reducesinternal friction by eliminating metal-on-metal contact. Less friction lowersthe operating temperaturewhich extends greaselife and allows forhigher operatingspeeds.

Precision GeometriesThe threads on all inch CAMROL bearingstuds meet class 2 tolerances and metricCAMROL bearing stud threads meet class6G tolerances. These precise geometrieshelp ensure better holding power.
