McDonald's menu concentrates on five main ingredients: beef, chicken, bread, potatoes and milk, which account for £255million of food expenditure. The company's main menu lists itsbasic food offering: the Big Mac, which still exists as a majorseller; other standard product names come from the McDonald'sconvention of adding a 'Mc' to a particular item. So, a chickensandwich becomes a 'McChicken' sandwich and chickennuggets become chicken 'McNuggets'. This idea has beenextended to their dessert range, with the creation of the'McFlurry' ice cream.

Supply Chain Integration

Page 13: mcdonalds ppt

Integration

Horizontal Integration: under this integration McDonalds purchase competition with differing target markets. They develop into activities that are competitive to current activities.

Vertical integration: We think that is a Backward Vertical Integration because McDonalds expand their operations into industries that produce inputs to the McDonald’s products.

Page 14: mcdonalds ppt

Outsource

Outsource: McDonalds outsourced some products like Ketchup by Heinz, milk by nestle, and mores. This also depends on countries where McDonalds are located. McDonald’s has

signed a five year extension to its global IT outsourcing agreement with Affiliated Computer Services.

Recommendation

While doing this report, we personally want to give some advice about more of traditional dishes. As we live in Thailand, we love to eat rice and curry and other traditional dishes. So to make the McDonalds more attractive in Thailand, McDonalds should make these kinds of dish.

Our advice to McDonalds is to make the restaurant more attractive because here we have many restaurants that are competing with McDonalds like Burger Kings, KFC and mores.

To Conclude, McDonalds has undergone several changes since its inception in San Bernardino, California. The fast food chain has conquered the U.S. and is also world wide spread throughout.

McDonalds are doing well in their home country and other countries around the world. We loved McDonalds because McDonalds makes us Smile. They served for customers and respected their customers. That is why many people like McDonalds as a FFF (Favorite Fast Food). It makes us fat but we still like to eat it because it is delicious. After doing analysis and strategies of McDonalds, we came to know many things about inner side and how they become successful.
