    Marfo Children Care Foundation (MCCF) July 2012 Report

    SCHOOL SPEECH AND PRIZE GIVING DAY

    On the 13 th of this month Life International School

    organized a Speech and Prize Giving day to award

    their smartest and most disciplined students for

    excelling in their academic work. 11 of our children

    attend this school. They keep on improving by each

    academic year. The Board of Directors of the school,

    the District Education Director and school staff

    attended the event. The Headmistress of the schoolgave the welcome address. In her speech, he

    commended the students for behaving themselves

    throughout the term. She encouraged them to strive

    for improvement and maintain a positive attitude all

    the time. Four of our children won awards and we

    are so proud of them!

    We are so happy that all the investment we are making in their education in and out of school is paying

    off tremendously.

    SCHOOL TRIP

    Life International School organized an educational trip to Parliament House and Kwame Nkrumah

    Museum for the students to help acquaint themselves with historical and current issues in Ghana. This

    trip was organized right before the end of the school year. The kids had so much fun and learned a lot.

    They got a tour of the parliament house where they got a better understanding of each seat of

    parliament and the rules and regulations that govern the house. From the parliament house, theyproceeded to Kwame Nkrumah Museum were they learned a lot about Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first

    president of Ghana. It was a fun day for all of them!

    MATRICULATION CEREMONY

    Tema Industrial Mission Vocational Training Institute organized a matriculation ceremony for their new

    students admitted this year. Paa Sammy Marfo was one of the

    students admitted to the institution. The institution is focused

    on vocational training in fashion designing, catering,hospitality and mechanics. During the ceremony, a new ultra-

    modern computer lab was handed over to the school to

    enhance their capabilities.

    KWEKUS NURSING SCHOOL RESIDENCY ASSIGNMENT

    As part of his curriculum at Narh Bita Nursing College for the term, Kweku and his classmates went on a

    residency assignment to Pantang Mental Health Hospital in the Ga East District. Kweku was.

    They were trained on clinical procedures and laboratory equipment used at the hospital to treatment.

    Their residency lasted a month. They also had the opportunity to interact and learn from some senior

    doctors and nurses, which was very beneficial.
