Our professional surveyors and project teams

work with clients as partners. We ensure that

all environmental aspects of green and brown

field earth movement and muck shifting are

considered.

Our surveyors will help with earthworks

modelling using bespoke/industry standard

Digital Modelling software to determine the most

practical, environmentally friendly programme

and resource level for the project. We identify and

implement the most cost effective way of treating

the earthworks element of your project.

We can assist with all stages of your project:

pre-planning, earthworks balancing options

(reducing offsite disposal), fill hauls, site clearing,

earth and muck removal (where required), project

completion and site enabling.

The skills and practical experience of our project

teams cover all aspects of earth movement and

earthworks modelling. On site, they are supported

by a modern fleet of specialist well-maintained

vehicles, plant and equipment operated by fully

trained and safety minded direct employees.

reclamation and remediation As a market leader in land remediation and

reclamation, McArdle provide clients with a

range of some of the most innovative and

environmentally friendly, low cost solutions for

reclamation and remediation available today.

The depth of experience and knowledge within

our management team demonstrates to clients

left heavily polluted. Our in-house abilities ensure

we can return these problematic sites to the

market, giving enhanced value to both the client

and the wider community.

From the initial remediation strategy through

to final approval, we will ensure all aspects of

regulatory compliance are achieved throughout

the project.

Well known for our major projects work,

McArdle’s reputation for outstanding quality

of service is intrinsic to smaller scale civil

engineering projects, external works and

landscaping finishes as well.

Clients rightly demand high levels of workplace

safety, a deep knowledge of regulatory

compliance, and the assurance of on time quality

delivery at a competitive price. Understanding

these demands and those imposed by today’s

economic climate, we continue to perform at

levels that impress our clients both in the public

and commercial sectors.

haulageThe McArdle Group’s Road Haulage Service

provides an effectively and professionally

managed fleet of HGVs capable of fulfilling the

significant logistics demands associated with civil

engineering projects.

We routinely manage a fleet of over 200 HGVs,

including an internal fleet of some 60 HGVs.

Our internal fleet consists of tipper lorries, low

loaders, fuel tankers and road sweepers as well

as ancillary equipment such as wheel washers.

Our HGV fleet supports a wide variety of both

internal and external projects.

McArdle’s Road Haulage Service provides the

link between our project activities and our Waste

Management activities, maximising our ability to

limit offsite disposal. By positioning all our road

licensed HGV activity under the control of our

haulage department, we take full advantage of

our established management structure to fulfil

our obligations under the Road Traffic Act whilst

aligning our haulage operations to the varying

legislative and operational environments of

Construction Sites, Waste Management Sites and

Quarries.

We are members of the FTA (Freight Transport

Association) and our management process

is accredited under FORS (Freight Operators

Recognition Scheme).

Our in-house fleet is 100% Euro4 compliant.

wasteMcArdle have been at the forefront of

Construction & Demolition Waste Management

throughout our history, continuously developing

practical and deliverable processes for waste

minimisation. These include re-use and recycling

as well as sustainably developing the viability and

use of recycled secondary aggregates and soil as

substrates for their primary markets.

Apart from servicing our own projects, McArdle

provide a complete waste management service

for the construction industry from initial ground

investigation through to completion of land

restoration.

Our waste specialists offer testing and

classification services designed to prevent

the incorrect disposal of all waste types.

When collecting waste from site our drivers

and operators rigorously police what they are

collecting, an essential service to our clients

when taking waste from brown field sites.

plant hireAs one of the UK’s leading Civil and Ground

Engineering companies, McArdle rely heavily

on up-to-date, well maintained earthmoving

plant. We understand the importance of reliable

machinery to ensure programme schedules are

maintained throughout a project.

Consequently we have made a significant

investment in the specialist plant we operate,

retrofitting numerous safety systems. This

includes auto braking radar, proximity sensors,

reversing cameras, handrail and seatbelt

indicators.

Our attention to safety and project completion

deadlines is supported by our policy of significant

capex investment and directly employed

operators – we leave nothing to chance.

With our large and diverse fleet, we are able to

support both McArdle and other construction

industry clients across the UK, providing reliable,

high quality, self drive or fully staffed earthmoving

plant service.

Our Environmental Commitment

McArdle always source energy efficient products

and machinery. We reduce our carbon footprint

by investing in a modern fleet of machinery of

which 80% achieves the Tier 3 standards for

environmental sustainability criteria for fuel

efficiency and emissions. This is one of the

cleanest emission levels currently available for

plant, with far lower emissions than normally

found in plant of this kind.

Safety and Increased Productivity

McArdle also support construction clients with a

full earthmoving plant hire package that includes

fully trained and experienced operators and

supervisors. We operate one of the largest GPS

enabled fleets of its kind in the UK complete with

laser control equipment. We minimise the amount

of men on the ground working around heavy

equipment whilst maximising productivity time.
