Minister Akisha S. Greene
Akisha Sharon Greene, is the
Founder of “First Friday’s”. Not
a clique, or a sorority, First
Friday’s is a movement!
Literally moving women from
where they are, to where God
has called them to be in every
area of their lives. We are
biblically based, socially
sensitive, spiritually alive and radically in love with Jesus!
There is no agenda. The mission of First Friday’s is
simple… to empower, encourage, and equip ALL
WOMEN. Through enrichment, teaching, wellness
screenings, outreach, spiritual counseling and mentoring,
we are empowering families, one woman at a time.
Akisha is the second of five children born to the late Sharon
Brown-Greene and Cornelius Levi Greene. A product of the
Prince George’s County Public School System, Akisha has a
Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Georgetown University, a
Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowie State University, and a
Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University.
She is a Managing Partner of Greene and Vaden, Inc.,
which owns and operates Washington, DC’s premier
cleaning agency, MaidPro of Capitol Hill, a residential and
commercial cleaning agency that serves over one
thousand clients and employs thirty-five full time
employees.
Akisha is also an author, having recently published her
first book entitled, Don’t Wait Until Sunday! In the book
she exclaims, “There are way too many people postponing
living a life of victory! There are no blackout dates with
God. There are no restrictions or bad service areas with
God. You have God's undivided attention today! Don’t
wait until tomorrow! Don't wait until Sunday!”
Akisha hosts annual forums for aspiring small business
owners and serves as a life coach and mentor to many.
She is one of the founding members of the Community of
Hope A.M.E. Church, in Temple Hills, MD, where the Rev.
Tony Lee is the Pastor. During her tenure at Community
of Hope, she served as the Coordinator of the Intercessory
Prayer Ministry, and the Minister to Women to over one
thousand women. Akisha is currently a member of the
Abundant Life Family Fellowship Church, where the Rev.
Lawrence Taylor is her Pastor and Covering. For she is
persuaded, that she is called for such a time as this to
EMPOWER, EQUIP AND ENCOURAGE the world… one
WOMAN at a time!`
Reverend Dr. Gloria Graham

husband James, as he served in the United States Military. She taught in the Department of Defense School System (DoDs), and because of her skilled and compassionate approached to teaching was nominated as DoDs Teacher of the Year, Heidelberg, Germany. With her other contributions to military communities, she was recognized on numerous occasions by Unit and Community Commanders. In 1986, Rev. Dr. Graham entered the Arlington County Public School System as a first grade teacher at the Barcroft Elementary school. While serving as teacher, she was recognized by parents, teachers and school administrators as one of the best educators in the district. Dr. Graham is an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Herndon, Virginia where she is the First Lady, serves as advisor to the Women’s Ministry, sings with the Women’s choir and a host of other ministries. She has been on several mission trips to Africa, including Kenya, Benin, and South Africa. Additionally, she has ministered in several places in the Caribbean. She has also ministered at churches and conferences in the Northern Virginia region and many other places in the United States. Rev. Dr. Graham strongly believes that we are all on assignment. She strongly believes that we are called into the field to do the work God has prepared us to do. We are, therefore, beacons of light, shining brightly to show the love of our Heavenly Father. She walks in the role of wife, mother, grandmother, friend, encourager and confidante to many. Rev. Gloria Graham and her husband, Rev. Dr. James L. Graham, Jr. have been married for over forty two years. She has two wonderful children, Andrea and James Omari; and five adorable grandchildren.
