The article discusses the origin of cancer and the breakdown of cellular controls that result in a chaotic system. In multicellular organisms, every cell has a division of labor that must perform a specific function in order to keep other cells functioning properly. Topics include an overview of the regulatory control mechanisms in cells and what happens when the genetic signals are dysfunctional, such as the creation of genetic mutations that cause cancer.
