MBA IN HOSPITALITY ‐ HOTEL & TOURISM MANAGEMENT
SEMESTER SYSTEM
REGULATIONS
1. Conditions for Candidates Admission (Eligibility):
Candidates seeking admission for the first year of the MBA full time Degree
Hospitality‐Hotel
&
Tourism
Management
should
posses
the
following
criteria.
They should hold any Degree of this University or any other University approved
by the syndicate as equivalent there to.
2. Duration of the Course:
The course for the full time students shall extend over a period of two
academic years consisting of four semesters. Each academic year will be divided
into two semesters. The first semester will consist of the period from July to
November and
the
second
semester
from
December
to
April.
The duration of each semester will be about 18 weeks. The subject of study
shall be in accordance with the syllabus prescribed from time to time.
3. Subject of study:
The total number of subjects of study will be 19 (inclusive of 1
specialization elective subject.)
The full
time
candidates
shall
take
6 subjects
in
the
first
semester,
6
subjects in the second semester, 3 subjects and 1 Elective which includes 3
subjects in the Third semester and the fourth semester. The enrolled students
have to undergo Training and submit the project work as per existing norms.

The project
report
must
be
submitted
through
the
supervisor
and
Head
of
the Department on or before April and the viva‐voce will be conducted.
4. Examination:
Theory:
University examinations will be conducted at November for the First
Semester, in
April
for
the
Second
Semester
and
in
November
for
the
Third
Semester. However, the fourth semester will be exclusively for project work as
stated below
Project Viva Voce:
A candidate shall register for the university Examinations written and / or project
work and Viva voce) pertaining to the semester under progress and also for the
arrears of earlier semester subjects, if any
5. Course of Study
Theory:
In each examination for the written paper, 25 % of marks shall be awarded
by the continuous internal assessment of 75% of the marks by external evaluation
by the University. The examination for the written paper shall be of 3 hours
duration and carry 100 marks, in the ratio of 25:75
Project Viva Voce:
Projects –

marks,
Viva
–
Voce

50
marks.
The Project work will be evaluated jointly by examiner – one internal and other
external. These examinations shall also conduct the viva voce.
