Course DescriptionMayo Clinic’s Annual Practice of Internal Medicine, celebrating its thirty-sixth consecutive year, is a postgraduate course designed to provide general internists, internist-subspecialists, family medicine physicians, and other primary care professionals with a state-of-the-art update in internal medicine. Lectures, panel presentations, and concurrent workshops are presented by specialists from the Mayo Clinic faculty. The topics represent some of the most common problems encountered in clinical practice including the management of a variety of medical issues seen in areas of gastroenterology, infectious diseases, general internal medicine, rheumatology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, pulmonary, endocrinology, cardiology, neurology and women’s health.

Course Learning ObjectivesUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

• Cite the latest advances in internal medicine based on evidence.

• Manage patients effectively with common disorders in internal medicine and medical subspecialties.

Date and LocationThe 36th Annual Practice of Internal Medicine course will be held May 4-8, 2015. Course headquarters will be located in Phillips Hall on the first floor of the Siebens Medical Education Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue Southwest, Rochester, Minnesota.

The registration fee includes tuition, comprehensive electronic course syllabus, continental breakfasts, break refreshments, concurrent workshops, and Lunch with the Professor on Tuesday and Thursday. Although it is not Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) policy to limit the number of registrants for a course, conference room facilities may necessitate closing of enrollment; therefore, early registration is advised. A letter of confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment and completed registration form. Please present the confirmation letter when checking in at the meeting registration desk.
