SCINTILLATING

SUPERSTARS

SUPERSTARS

who thought we were already done? Did you

hear about the consultant who had a heart

attack on Tuesday, had 3 stents put in on

Wednesday and was back at the next Tuesday

meeting because she didn’t want to miss any of

the excitement? That’s why we’re doing IT.

We’ve got so many people believing we

can. My former students

from all over the country

are watching our progress

on Facebook. They don’t

know exactly what it

means, but they’re

cheering. One of these

“grown kids” who now

helps run the athletic

program for the

University of Kentucky,

took the time to hand

write and mail me a

postcard after watching

the slideshow from the

historic courthouse. He

said, “I don’t understand

it, but I can tell you’re still

finding a way to impact

the lives of people,

through Mary Kay. I know

you’ll do whatever it is

you’re wanting to do.”

Warms my heart and strengthens my

conviction that we’re finishing this IT National

Area. Welcome charter members! Whatever

you’ve done, big or small with your MK

business, you have contributed to this

momentous event. Let’s get it done, so the

celebrations can begin!!

Your ALMOST National,

Dear Scintillating Superstars,

Here comes the JUDGE! Out I came,

right after my red-robed offspring directors ran

down the aisle amidst a rousing round of

applause. What a kick off we had for the first

day of the last month of NIQ. Robes flapping,

we danced to our National Song. We’re

perfecting the moves,

preparing for the Seminar

stage. “I Gotta Feeling”

the Pearl Seminar will be

up on their feet dancing

with us.

Remembering magic

moments and visualizing

more, that’s what’s getting

me through these last days

of NIQ. I’ve got the white

board memorized, and the

numbers are slowly

changing. I know with

conviction IT WILL BE

DONE. I’ll breathe easier

when it really is.

Our unit is hearing

the rallying cry, and you’re

stepping up to the plate,

helping us finish at the

$800,000 Prestige Circle of

Excellence. I know we’re double dipping as we

contribute what we are allowed to do towards

the National Area, and then our efforts are

helping the Scintillating Superstars to have a

UNIT VICTORY as well. My director buddies

and new national friends-to-be are amazed that

we’ve set these HIGH goals.

I told them this is just a precursor to what they

can expect from us in the next few years.

Did I tell you about the director in

Denmark who believes we’ll make it? Did you

know I already received a box of HUGE

chocolate covered strawberries from a director

Each month I will feature a different Future Martin Area Director in our newsletter.

Directors have all gone through many of the same issues that you have or may go through in your life and ca-

reer.

Director Name: Kristi Mathre

Former Occupation: Teacher

City/State: Newark, IL

Joined Mary Kay: May 2003

Debuted as a director: June 2007

# of months of driving free: since September of 2006

Highest commission check in one month: $6,224.02

What was the sequence of events that brought you into the company? (recruiting layering process) I had been using the products since college. I had a variety of consultants

servicing me through a period of about 4 or 5 years, but no one that continued to stay in contact with me or who stuck with their business. I met Tracy Steffen at a wedding. She invited me often to her meetings as a model and popped by with new products often. After coming to Jeanie's home for an event and an interview, I joined.

Why did you join? I liked the atmosphere that I saw at the meetings. I had never been in a

sorority in college, but secretly wanted to be! I liked the fun they seemed to be having and being surrounded with people who enjoyed the same things as me. I also thought the 50% discount was fabulous!

Why did you want to become a director? I wanted to have a career that I could work around my family. I also could see what it had done for so many other women and believed that if they could make it happen, so could I.

Has there been a dark season? Debuting as a brand new sales director and continuing to

work a full time job with 2 small kids left me feeling tired and stretched. I let my personal business slide as I tried to figure out my role as a director. I had a small unit and without my personal activity we weren't where we had been in DIQ. After getting back to seeing 30 personal faces a month I was able to generate activity to "revive" me and my unit. We have been continuing to grow ever since, and I have learned to balance directorship and my personal activity.

THIS MONTH’S ISSUE OF:

IF SHE CAN, I CAN!

Page 11: May Newsletter

Page 11

What is the one thing that was difficult for you or you were afraid of in this business? Being disciplined with my time and also leading other women. I have always

enjoyed the consultant side of this business, but the leadership side was intimidating.

During what time period did you have the greatest growth of income and what was the growth? When our unit was going for Premier Club, we did over $15,000 production

in one month. My check was over $6,000 that month, more than double what it usually was.

What do you attribute the growth? Having a unit goal that everyone was enrolled in.

What advice would you give a consultant who wants to be a Director? Work your personal business consistently and full circle. Participate in all challenges, which are designed to move you forward and attend all events.

My dream corner….. I’m dreaming of June 20th, when all the units

are at 30 and the production is in. Will I sit back, prop my feet up

and say done? Or will I roll up my sleeves and say, “Okay

Scintillating Superstars, what can we do to get to $33,000

WHOLESALE by June 30th?!” What do you think I’ll do?
