Students who checked out textbooks, ipads, and laptops from SSS book library are expected to return it to SSS Office on May 11th by 5p.m. The SSS Office loaned books, ipads, and laptops to SSS participants during the spring 2017 semester, and thus supported them on their way to success in their classes.
SSS will have tutors available during the summer semester capable of tutoring a number of subjects. Make sure to request a tutor or check out books for summer semester on June 1st.

38th Annual Student Recognition &
Awards Ceremony
Shayla Ingalls received a tutor of the year award. Shayla is a junior, double majoring in communication sciences and psychology. Besides working as a tutor at SSS, she is a member of various university organizations and honors programs.
On Friday, April 14th 2017, Student Support Services staff, program participants, university faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the 38th Annual Student Recognition & Awards Ceremony. The event took place in Gridley Room of the Rhatigan Student Center, at Wichita State University. At the event, students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, 2016-2017 academic year graduates, and SSS endowed scholarship recipients were recognized.. Among the attendees were:
Dr. Anthony Vizzini, Provost & Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. Teri Hall, Vice President of Student Affairs; and Deltha Colvin, Associate, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Director of Special Programs.
The program started promptly at 2:50 p.m. with introduction and recognition of guests, faculty, and staff by the director of Student Support Services, Dr. Kennedy Musamali . The director’s introductions were followed by inspiring remarks from Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Special Programs, Deltha Q. Colvin. Ms. Colvin recognized the success of SSS program participants, and congratulated all students for their achievements. The wonderful event was accompanied by the sound of piano, performed by Jerald Wytch, an SSS alumni. Michael Kenard from My Pic-tureMan LLC was also in attendance to capture the event on camera. A total of 42 guest attended the event. The enjoyable event was organized by hard working SSS professional staff and student assistants.
GPA 3.5 & ABOVE HONOREES
During the ceremony, SSS recognized the high acheiving students with a GPA of 3.5 and above. Five of the students from the list attended the ceremony and claimed their rewards.
