Northern Exposure has been organized by the Nordic Museum in cooperation with The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. We can’t wait for you to come inside—but for Members, the Grand Opening on May 5 doesn’t have to be the first time you do. On April 25, 26, and May 3, we will be holding special previews for our Members. The Museum will be holding a Members-only open house on Wednesday, April 25, from 12–4pm, and on Thursday, April 26, from 10am–6:30pm. There will be two Member Previews to choose from on May 3: first, a self-guided version between 12pm and 4pm, and then a reception and preview from 6–9pm. We’re particularly excited to show you Nordic Journeys, our new core exhibition, which has benefited from partnerships with leading museums in the Nordic region. It features nearly one hundred loaned items from national museums in the Nordic countries and spans 11,000 years of history. At noon on May 5, we’ll host the official ribbon cutting ceremony, which will be attended by dignitaries from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. After the ceremony, our UPCOMING EVENT Fridtjof Nansen May 5–August 5, 2018 A biographical narrative of the Norwegian explorer and humanitarian, Fridtjof Nansen studies a purposeful life of scientific learning and exploration, political travails, and humanitarian devotion.
