Welcome! I am so glad you are

here. Summer is right around

the corner, and with it lots of

exciting things at Henderson

Hills for you and your family. Be

sure and check out our website

hhbc.com for all the details.

This weekend we are delighted

to be introducing the Elder

Council’s recommendation for our next Lead Teaching

Pastor. He will be preaching in view of a call and we’ll

have various upcoming opportunities for the church to

get acquainted with him in the near future. We plan to

vote the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd.

If you are new to Henderson Hills, be sure and stop by

the Guest Reception area and meet some of the church

staff and find out more about who we are, why we are

here, and how you can join with us in community and

ministry. Thank you for worshipping with us.

Wally Weaver, Elder/Pastor of Congregational Care

NEXT STEPS

Imagine an evening filled with amaz-

ing food, fun, and 250+ dads and

daughters creating a

masterpiece together.

This happened at Dad-

dy Daughter Date Night

a few weeks ago.

Dads were encouraged

to take their daughter

(or daughters) out to

dinner before arriving at

HHBC where their first

“canvas” was waiting:

blank cupcakes sitting

on a pallet of sprinkles

and chocolate chips.

Once the sweet treats

were made (and con-

sumed!) they moved

into the Worship Cen-

ter filled with tables

that held canvases and

paint. Sarah Valentine

gave instructions from

the stage that allowed

every family with older daughters

to create their own version of Van

Gogh’s “Sunflowers.”

Dads with younger daughters also

created a flower dot painting under

the instruction of Tyler and Jessica

Rust. Throughout the night the dads

and daughters heard about the im-

portance of imitating Christ in ev-

erything they do. They

were able to take their

art home that they cre-

ated together as a fun

memory of the night.

Volunteers were key in

making this event come

to life. Multiple volun-

teers roamed the room

to give art tips and an-

swer any questions.

Many others helped

by setting up, passing

out fresh water, refilling

paint, and cleaning up

afterwards.

HHBC values the im-

portance of men lead-

ing their families toward

Christ. The Men’s Minis-

try exists to encourage

men to love God, love

people, and make disciples. Events

like Daddy Daughter Date Night are

just one of the ways the ministry ac-

complishes this.

If you have any questions about the

Men’s Ministry, please contact Chris.

SUMMER SENT [email protected]

Summer is right around the

corner and we’d like to challenge

you to make it a summer “sent

out.” Visit the Live Sent Kiosk in

the Gathering for ways you can

serve the community with us.

[email protected] are needed for the fall semester support groups, Single & Parenting and Divorce Care. Please pray about these opportunities to help others. If you have experience in these life seasons and are interested in facilitating one of these groups, please contact Kim Swyden.
