Reflections from Recruitment Director, Russ Balsman

Did you know?

CS Lewis was a former Oxford Professor, Christian apologist, and lay theologian of legendary status. Here are some of my favorite Lewis’ quotes. “Human history is the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.”

“A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to wor-ship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word “darkness” on the walls of his cell.” “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” “God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn in no other way.”

Edith Schiltz Scholarship Applications The Edith Schiltz Scholarship is meant to provide tui-tion assistance to students who are members of Im-manuel Lutheran Church and are attending or plan-ning to attend a Lutheran Church Missiouri Synod col-lege or university. Applications are available in the church office. Please turn in completed applications by July 1st.
