Erin and Sarah will share how God is working in their lives. They desire to inspire husbands and wives to love each other, love their families and enjoy the freedom that Christ has given them. Judging from the title you would expect something different; that’s what you’ll get – unconventional wisdom that challenges us to rely on God and live boldly for Him.

Erin and Sarah met at OCEC twelve years ago where Erin wisely asked Sarah to be a volunteer with the JR HI ministry. Two years of friendship later they started dating, got engaged and married with a year’s time. They have survived two master’s degrees and the strains of full time ministry – which prepared them to have the two best parts of their marriage – Rocco and Ryder! Sarah is a stay at home mom who loves all three of her boys. Erin is the Pastor of Student Ministries. They love to hike, spend time going to parks, hugging their boys and counting the days until Christmas.

DATE NIGHT: a monthly night out with your spouse!

Congregational Meeting - Monday, May 10 7:00pm Meeting in the SR HI Room (D5)

A unique opportunity has come which the Operations Committee (authorized by the Church Council to take action between Council meetings) believes should be presented to the congregation for discussion and decision. The home at 206 Holmes Lane has gone into foreclosure and will be sold at public auction at 11:00am on May 12, 2010 on the steps of the Clackamas County Court House.

This property holds interest to OCEC due to two factors:

1. The current occupant of the home is House of Hope, a residential program for education, counseling and basic life skills for girls 13-18. Rita Cosenza, a member of OCEC, is the director. We have seen God use House of Hope to bring wonderful restoration of some teens to God and to their families.

2. The property is approximately 1/2 acre and the back portion of the property adjoins another property that the church owns on Davis Road.

The congregation will be asked if OCEC should pursue the purchase of this property and the maximum amount the church is willing to pay.

Office Manager, Esther, to Retire This Summer

After nearly 22 years of faithful service to OCEC, Esther Entenman has decided to set the computer, phone and receptionist window aside and retire. Her present plan is to work through the summer with her last day to be September 3, 2010. While being at OCEC, Esther has worked with three different Lead Pastors and a multitude of staff and volunteers. She has answered more phone calls than anyone would want to count and answered countless questions. She will be greatly missed. Those who follow her will have a lot to learn about things that she did that happened behind the scenes.

After prayer and discussion amongst staff and church leadership, it was decided to offer the Office Manager position to Kay Neumann who presently serves as a full-time secretary. God has gifted Kay with organizational skills and she is a hard worker. We are thankful for her readiness to take this next step and challenge of leadership. In addition, Leah Bellamy, who currently serves as a part-time secretary will be moving to a full-time position. Decisions are still pending regarding filling out our office team with the available part-time position. At this point we can praise the Lord that there will be a smooth transition in our office staff over the summer and we will be ready for the fall.
