protection of creation.

From the Principal
Saint Paul, through his letters, worked to build community. In so doing, the Word of
God that he was so passionate about would become flesh once again through the daily words
and deeds of every member he addressed. For Paul, the mission of the community was to
operate as one Body in Christ, in which all members work in coordination with each other, to
live as Jesus wanted us to.
At St. Peter School, the faculty and staff strive to share Paul’s message with our students and with each
other. As we near the end of another school year (and as I end my first year as Principal) we pray our efforts
linger with students throughout the summer and that the foundation of faith that is being constructed will be
strong enough to weather any storm.
Thank you for your support of the mission of St. Peter School. We hope to continue to shine as the
beacon on the hill. Andrew Malionek

community, please know that we are delighted to
have you among us. We would like to meet you.
Please say hello to any of our ministers or staff

Au Revoir, Fr. Francis
Congratulations to Francis D. Alvarez, S.J., who was
awarded a Ph.D. in Theology and Education by
Boston College on May 22! For the last several
years, Fr. Francis has joyfully shared his presence
with us at the 5 p.m. Mass. Several hundred attended
his final Mass and reception last Sunday. He soon
returns to his native Philippines. We are most
grateful for his generosity of time, love, and joyful
spirit. And we pray for his welfare and happiness.
God bless you, Fr. Francis!

Harvard Square Churches Meals Program
Service Opportunities
For the past 5 years St. Peter Parish has been helping
to provide volunteers to the Harvard Square Churches
Meals Program each Thursday during the summer
months. The program serves a nutritious sit- down
dinner to over 100 guests at Christ Church, 0 Garden
Street. They rely on college students for volunteers.
Our parish has been able to provide assistance during
the summer and on school breaks. Over 50
parishioners have volunteered since we began. If you
are interested in helping out, we hope to send 4-5
volunteers each week from June 1 through September
21(except for June 23). Volunteers need to arrive
between 4:30-4:45pm. Doors open for guests at 5:00
p.m; dinner is at 5:30 p.m.; and clean up concludes by
7:30 p.m. If you have any questions or would like to
sign up for a week or two, please contact Anna
Molettieri at [email protected]. or
617-547-4235 x117. It is important to sign up in
advance.
