Why is it so difficult to tolerate the faults of others? Have we forgotten that Jesus bore our sins?

It is better to have a Church that is wounded but out in the streets than a Church that is sick because it is
closed in on itself.

From the Pastor’s Desk
This weekend we celebrate the feast of Pentecost. This is the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the celebrated beginning of the Church. From the power of the Spirit, the Apostles lost their fear, left the upper room and courageously went out to preach and live the Good News. This is also the end of the Easter Season – the fifty days of celebration of new life in the resurrection of Christ.
Please be aware of the following: THIS Sunday, May 24th – is the last Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass for the season. The summer schedule will begin, and the Sunday 5:00 p.m. will resume in September.
Don’t forget our PARISH PICNIC on Sunday, June 7th, from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. This is always a wonderful afternoon for all ages. Please join us for delicious food and wonderful entertainment.

28 Receive First Communion
At the liturgies on May 9, 10 and 17, our parish community celebrated Eucharist for the first time with twenty-eight young parishioners. Many thanks to all those who helped prepare them for this most sacred sacrament—their parents and families, along with Cheryl DePasquale, Coordinator of First Eucharist Preparation, Lydia Molettieri, Catechist Assistant, and Caitlin Hill, St. Peter School Grade 2 Teacher. Thanks as well to those who prepared and served at the liturgies, including Doreen Gulledge, Director of Music, the cantors, choirs and musicians, and our servers and greeters. Please pray that the Lord continue to bless our young parishioners who now share fully with us at His Table.
