If the weather is inclement, Mass will be held in St. Francis Church at 10:00AM. All parishioners and friends are welcome & encouraged to attend.

THANK YOU—CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN Thank you for your generosity in last week’s Collection for the Catholic Communications Campaign. Because of your support, millions of faithful will have the opportunity to deepen their faith through daily resources on the Internet, television, and radio, and in print media. Remember, half of your donations are staying in our Diocese to support local communication needs. Our collection total at St. Brigid was $ 476.50.

PARISH LOTTERY CALENDARS We are still looking for number 795, which was not signed out and hasn’t been returned. If this number is not turned in by Tuesday, June 2nd, it will not pay out if it wins.

2015 GRADUATES

If your child is graduating from High School or college this year, please call the rectory or put a note in the collection with his or her name. A special Mass for Graduates Intentions will be held Sunday, June 28th. The location will be decided by where most of our graduates attend Mass.

ANNUAL ST. BRIGID PARISH GARAGE SALE AT NEUMANN CENTER The Annual Garage Sale at Neumann Center, Choconut will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 12/13, from 8AM to 6PM. You can participate in one of the following ways: Rent a table for $ 5.00 to sell your own treasures. You may set up after 5:00PM on Thursday, June 11th, OR donate items to the Parish to be sold. Items must be clean, usable, and working. We will accept clean children’s clothing this year. We will accept items on Thursday, June 11th, after 5:00PM. If you have questions or to reserve a table, please call Homan’s at 553-2860.

PARISH FUND RAISING MEETING There will be a meeting for the Parish Picnic and Pot O’Gold Party on Wednesday, May 27th, at 6:30PM in Neumann Hall. New Chairpersons are needed for the Picnic. Good mentors are available to help new Chairpersons! Anyone interested in helping with either fund raiser is welcome to attend.

PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING—CANCELLED Because of the Parish Fund Raising Meeting being held at the same time as the Pastoral Council Meeting was scheduled for—the Pastoral Council Meeting will be rescheduled.

PARISH AD BOOK

Memorial section sheets are available in the back of the Churches. If you would like to place a new memorial in the book, please fill out a form and return it to the rectory no later than June 1st.

BUS TRIP TO PHILADELPHIA TO SEE POPE FRANCIS We have one bus full and have secured a second bus. We have room on the second bus for (8) more people. Please call the Rectory (570-553-2288) as soon as possible if you would like to attend. Please feel free to invite friends from outside the Parish to attend so that we can fill the bus! The date is Sunday, September 27th. Cost per person for the bus is $ 40.00. Meals are

extra. (Or you can bring a brown bag lunch.) You may begin paying at any time. Please make checks payable to St. Brigid Parish and place them in the collection basket or mail to the Rectory. Please also note who each check will be paying for.

PARISH FUND RAISING MEETING There will be a meeting for the Parish Picnic and Pot O’Gold Party on Wednesday, May 27th, at 6:30PM in Neumann Hall. New Chairpersons are needed for the Picnic. Good mentors are available to help new Chairpersons! Anyone interested in helping with either fund raiser is welcome to attend.

PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING—CANCELLED Because of the Parish Fund Raising Meeting being held at the same time as the Pastoral Council Meeting was scheduled for—the Pastoral Council Meeting will be rescheduled.

Memorial section sheets are available in the back of the Churches. If you would like to place a new memorial in the book, please fill out a form and return it to the rectory no later than June 1st.

BUS TRIP TO PHILADELPHIA TO SEE POPE FRANCIS We have one bus full and have secured a second bus. We have room on the second bus for (8) more people. Please call the Rectory (570-553-2288) as soon as possible if you would like to attend. Please feel free to invite friends from outside the Parish to attend so that we can fill the bus! The date is Sunday, September 27th. Cost per person for the bus is $ 40.00. Meals are

extra. (Or you can bring a brown bag lunch.) You may begin paying at any time. Please make checks payable to St. Brigid Parish and place them in the collection basket or mail to the Rectory. Please also note who each check will be paying for.

CHURCH SOFTBALL NEWS Last Saturday the game was cancelled due to weather. This Saturday we have a break for Memorial Day Weekend. More/new players are needed. If you would like to play on our team, please call Sean Kelly at 570-744-2010. All are welcome to join. Next Saturday, May 30th, we play at the Wyalusing Field against Moxie/Orwell Church at 6:30PM.

FOUND A “FORD” key has been found on the ground near St. Francis Church and parking lot. If you are missing a key, please call the Rectory to claim it. It is a single key with a dealer type ring on it, however these is no distinguishing name on it.

PAMPHLET AND BOOK REMINDER

This note is a reminder that any pamphlets or books that are placed in our Churches need the approval of Father Cas before they are placed on the table. The reason for this is that this reading material is not always in conformance with Church teaching or doctrine. Any material which does not have the prior approval of Father will be removed.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION If you would like a private hour of adoration at St. Augustine’s, the following hours have opened up: Tuesday 12-1PM; Wednesday 10-11AM; and Thursday 7-8AM. “SPORTS OF ALL SORTS” The CVYAA, Choconut Valley Youth Athletic Association, is holding a fund raiser. Tickets are $ 25.00 each. Prizes are: 1st—$ 10,000; 2nd—$ 5,000; 3rd—$ 2,500; 4th—$ 2,000; 5th—$ 1,500; 6th, 7th, 8th—$ 1,000; 9th & 10th—$500. You need not be present to win. Drawing will be Saturday, June 27th at the Choconut Valley Elementary School pavilion. Food is included. Funding will benefit all of the youth sports programs by providing resources need to supply equipment, maintain fields, and cover expenses associated in running these programs. ONE DAY RETREAT A one day Retreat with Matthew Arnold will be held Saturday June 6th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish at the St. Mary of the Assumption worship site, 245 State St. (US Rt. 6) in Wyalusing. The retreat will be led by nationally known Catholic speaker, Matthew Arnold and will be open to all at no charge. A free will offering will be taken for Matthew’s expenses. The proposed schedule is as follows: 9:00AM Mass; 9:30AM Registration and coffee; 10:00-11:30AM -first talk by Matthew; Break-Lunch; 12:30PM Rosary; 1:00-2:30PM-Second talk by Matthew. Matthew holds a certificate in Christian Counseling, and was a founding member of the Society for Christian Psychology. He and his family currently reside in Southern California.

8TH ANNUAL JOHNNY HART MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT The 8th Annual Johnny Hart Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 11th at The Links at Hiawatha Landing. There will be a Putting Contest at 11:00AM—Guaranteed $500.00 winner. Registration begins at 12Noon. Shotgun start is at 1:00PM. Cost is $ 100.00 which includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes. LIGHT THE FIRE SUMMER YOUTH RALLY The Light the Fire Summer Youth Rally for teens in grades 9 thru 12 will be held on July 1st at Misericordia University, Dallas, Pa. Registration begins at 9:00AM and closing Mass is at 7:00PM. June 24th is the EARLY registration deadline. Fee for EARLY registration is $30.00. After June 24th the fee is $ 35.00. There is an additional $10.00 t-shirt fee per person. If you are interested in attending, there are copies of the Quick Reference Guide available in the back of our Churches. Please take a copy and check out all the available information. Adult chaperones are also needed. All students in grades 9 thru 12 are welcome and encouraged to attend.
