Not just driving down the street, but somewhere where people can look at it and ask you questions? Of course there are several local hot rod shows but why not go somewhere where you will be appreciated. There are at least 7 "all British" car shows within 200 miles of Chattanooga. A couple can be driven to and from in one day, the others might take overnight accommodations. As I write this Townsend is over, and only Morristown remains for the spring show season. It is time to start thinking about club activities for the summer months. Morristown should be a great show. It will be downtown Morristown. While only a one day show, June 2nd, they have a host hotel the Holiday Inn Ex- press. This will be my first time to this show and I am looking forward to it. The fall show season will start in August with Rugby, then in September with "Brits on the Shoals" at Joe wheeler State Park in Alabama, then to Dillard, Georgia for "British Car Festival." October is the Nashville show , then our show at the Chattanoogan. All these shows within 200 miles of Chattanooga. Sunday, June 10th, Doug and Sandy Forquer have been very gracious inviting us to their house for a picnic. We will eat the remaining BBQ and chicken left over from the British Bash. Doug was very excited the other day when he an- nounced that he was about to start the engine of his '67 MGBGT. This is a car he has owned for 28 years and had never started the engine. The car is completed restored. Come out and see what your British car setting in the corner of the garage for the last several years car look like. I have not seen the car, but knowing Doug and his cars, I expect a very beautiful car. By the way, my understanding the car is Sandy's.

(continued from pg 1)

Townsend is over. There were ten cars that went and five came home with awards. Seven cars spent the weekend at the Talley Ho motel, the other 3 cars made it a round trip on Saturday. Three cars were awarded First Place in class: Scott McAllister Austin Healey Sprite Doug and Sandy Forquer MGB Hank Rippert MGT (Also received a 3rd Place Kids Choice) Second Place awards went to: Dave Terhune MGA Charles and Perky Long MGB (Modified) I was excited about the comments from individuals in Townsend about our show this coming October. While there were some negative there were also positive comments, and indications they were coming to Chattanooga and would not miss the show. Our monthly meeting at Puleo's seemed to be a success. The service was outstanding and the food was great. There were 27 members and guest present. We will meet there on June 11th. I hope that everyone will enjoy this location Submitted by Mike Flood President
