Eddie(pup)hasfitinwonderfully!Wecouldn’tbehappierandIdon’tthinkhecouldeither.Betsyhasbeenanonlydogallofherlife.ShehadadifficulttimethefirstcoupleofdaysandIwasconcernedforhersakethatwehadmadeamistake.ItriedtogiveheralonetimeandoncewhenItookherwithmetogetthemailEddiebarkedandsheranasfastasshecouldtoseewhatwaswrong.Shealsoprotectshimfromthecat(whocouldn’tcareless).
Eddiehasadjustedverywell.Wehaveadoggiedoorandhegotthehangofthatrightaway.Heis100%housetrainednowandthatdidn’ttakemuchtimeeither.Iwasprettyvigilantandhelearnsveryfast.WeshastaughthimthatheisnottoeatoutofBetsy’sbowlandheisgoodaboutthataslongasweareintheroom.Turnyourbackandhe‘forgets’.
NeedlesstosaywelovethelittleguyandBetsyisrapidlylearningthatit’sprettyfuntohavesomeonetoplaywithanytimeyouwanttoplay.

Ispottedheronmywayhomefromwork,walkingveryslowlydownthesideoftheroadasifshehadnohopeintheworld.Shecametome,slowly.Ialwayscarrypackagesofdogfood,bottlesofwateranddogbowlsinmytruckforsuchoccasions.Sheateapacketanddownedhalfabottleinnotime.She'slosingherhair,hadnocollar,andhascataracts.Aniceyoungman,about20,stoppedtohelpmeandwegatheredherupintothebackofmytruck,safelyenclosedinmycab.She'satthevetnow,probablywonderingwhyshe'sthere,butbeforetheycameouttogether,sheclimbedup,putbothlittlepawsaroundmyneckandlaidherheadonmyshoulder.Itoldhershewouldsleepwarmtonightandbesafe.
TheHumaneSocietyinCherokeeCountywilltakeherfromhereonout,butshewillneedcaretogetherfeelingbetteragainandthatcostsmoney.Shedidn'tgetthiswayovernightanditwilltakealittletimeandsomelove.IfyouwonderwhyIconstantlyharpaboutdonatingtotheHSCC,thisiswhy.
