Is living without your phone a prob-
lem? Are your parents always on you for using
your phone too much? Then back away from
your phone and into the woods for a camping
trip with friends or family.
When packing for a camping trip, make sure
you have everything you need for camping
such as a tent. Make sure you include some-
thing to put on top of the tent just case it rains,
such as a tarp. You
might want to think
about bringing bug
repellent because
most bugs like to be
around camping sites.
The most important
things to bring are
clothes. So pack for
warm days and cold
nights because the weather is almost always
crazy. Other things you might want to bring are
a flashlight, books, board games, and anything
else that would entertain you except your
phone.
Staying off your phone is a struggle,
but with these fun and exciting ideas you
should have a good time.
Fishing is an alternative to staying off
your phone. With just a bit of bait and a fishing
pole, you can catch some dinner and have a
blast snagging some trout on the lake. If buy-
ing a fishing pole Is a problem, you can make
one with only a string
and a stick. All you need
is a hook and some bait,
and you can even use
worms! They’re easy to
find and good for catch-
ing fish!
Another thing
you and your family or
friends can do is go hik-
ing. Hiking is a fun and easy way to enjoy the
outdoors. All you have to do is pack your water
and snacks because it could be a long day. If
you want to go on a long hike, look for some
sort of trail. Trails are always the best way to
hike. Following a trail will lead you in the right
direction. The wider the trail, the more likely it
is meant to be there, and you won’t run into to
many problems along the way. If there is trou-
ble, make sure you have a way to contact
someone for help.
Also a source of entertainment could
be riding a bike. When camping, consider
bringing a bike. It is a very easy way to stay
active and have fun. Some campsites even have
trails meant only for biking. So if you really
want to go biking, try finding trails. Also, con-
sider staying with someone at all times.
The last thing you need to know is
where you want to go camping at, some op-
tions include Jubilee
Lake(19.8 miles
from Weston), Mo-
ses Lake(134 miles
from Weston), and
Wallowa Lake(96
miles from Weston).
When going camp-
ing, make sure you
have a way to get
there and back. You might want to bring a little
bit of money because although camping is a
reduced cost, most sites these days might cost
a small fee. If money is a problem then you
should consider finding your own
camping spot. If you are planning on
going camping, make sure to bring
someone along. Make sure your phone
isn’t getting in the way of the great out-
doors because with today’s society it’s
good to take a break and be active!

How many of you in the student body have heard about Loot Crate? Well, for those of you that haven't heard about it
Loot Crate is a website that you can order a box of geeky items like a Space Invaders tie and other things such as little Mega Man
helmets. When you get your Loot Crate, you always get some type of pin, they are normally related to a game or something hap-
pening during that month. In the Loot Crate you get many other cool items but it just depends on the month. There are other
items that are exclusive to Loot Crate only.
Now that you have learned about what you can get in a Loot Crate, let's talk about the price. You can get a one month
plan, a three month plan, a six month plan, or a one year plan. If you get a one month plan, you pay $19.95. The three month
plan costs $57.75. The six month plan is $113.70. Finally, the one year plan is $215.40 and comes with a bonus gift.
Since you know what comes in them and the price ranges, you might need to
know their history. Loot Crate was established in 2012 by a team of geeks and gam-
ers. When they founded Loot Crate, they thought that the online retail was missing
the sense of community. When they say that online retail is missing the sense of
community, they are saying that when you are ordering something online you're
just on a website ordering something. That's why Loot Crate made it so when you
order your Loot Crate, they have a little community where you can post selfies with
your new items from your crate. You can also find Loot Crate on Instagram or
Twitter using #lootcrate. Now that you know about Loot Crate, it is up to if you to get your very own Loot Crate and feel what
others have said is like opening Christmas presents every month.

Vans shoes are a new popular trend in
teens these days, and they have definitely
made their mark. It seems as if almost every-
one has a pair of these shoes. Vans is not on-
ly a shoe brand, but it is also a clothing
brand. Many Vans shirts have the Vans logo,
but others have colorful graphic designs.
Vans shoes come in various styles including
Old Skool, Slip-On, and Sk8 Pro.
One of the downsides to Vans is that they
are flat-bottomed shoes. Flat-bottomed
shoes can end up making your knees hurt
because they don't give enough support.
However, Vans are made for skating, so the
flat bottom is an advantage. Vans were first
designed for skateboarders, but over time,
people have started wearing Vans for every-
day use.
Vans come in many colors, such as red,
black, purple, blue, and grey. They can also
come multicolored. Some of the multicol-
ored shoes are the galaxy and tie dyed ones.
The range of colors for these shoes seems to
be infinite, which is a good thing when it
comes to getting shoes to match your outfit.
Many people might see a shoe that they like,
but it's in the wrong color. However, with
Vans this isn't a problem because there are
so many colors to choose from.
Vans are pretty much great shoes. They
offer you a way to express yourself with all of
the colors they offer. Just make sure that if
you have bad knees to not wear these shoes
all the time because they could damage your
knees more. Vans have made their footprint
on this generation and they will definitely
continue making their path.

Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave,
and impossible to forget
- Anonymous
We will miss you!
How many of you will be traveling for summer vacation? Well, this article is for those of you that are traveling. You may be excited for your trip, which may cause you to forget what to pack. One of the most important things you will need for your trip is clothes. You should probably pack enough clothes for each day you will be gone. If you are going to the beach you may want clothes you can wear into the ocean. Walking around in dirty clothes is just gross. Pack extra clothes just in case something like the weather spoils your trip. If there is a chance of bad weather don't forget appropriate items for the condition such as a windbreaker, a poncho, or a warm winter coat. Next, you should probably pack your bathroom items such as soap, deodorant, a comb, shampoo/conditioner, and any oth-er items needed. Also, make sure you don't forget your medication. You don't want to be stuck with a medical problem with no medi-cal solution. It would also help if you have any medical conditions like asthma, to take anything you may need in case of an emer-gency. Some other things that may be helpful are chargers for your electronic devices. You may want to take other things to do like a book to read, headphones to listen to music, or even a card game like Magic the Gathering or something more known, Pokemon. Something else others like to bring, is a laptop just in case there is Wi-Fi at your hotel or a family member’s house. Just remember that these things can be useful during most trips, but you don’t want to take anything you won’t use or need. If you are traveling by plane, you are only allowed to have your luggage and one carry-on. The luggage can’t weigh more than 50 pounds and the carry-on can be bigger than 22 by 14 by 9 inches which may depend on the airline you travel through. So just re-member to keep it simple.

How Does Boredom Effect You? By Keree
Do the two words that could
possibly ruin your day “I’m bored”
occur during the summer? Bore-
dom happens when people have
trouble focusing, or when they can-
not find anything engaging/
interesting to distract themselves.
Yet boredom is, in reality, a crucial
ability to be tru-
ly productive,
let alone effec-
tive, but being
bored turns
your mind in-
ward and en-
courages reflec-
tion.
When you’re rushing about
doing what you feel obligated to
do, there’s no time to think about
other important things because
you’re stressing about one already.
When you’re bored, there’s nothing
else to do but think. Boredom can
also help you think of new ways to
solve difficult problems that you
didn’t know how to before. Also, if
your head is spinning with what
you’re going to do tomorrow and
what you should’ve done today,
sleep will come much more diffi-
cult. However, the people who have
a clear mind fall asleep faster and
tend to wake up more refreshed.
This meaning that boredom is a
good activity.
Then again, boredom can also
be really bad for your health. Usu-
ally, when people are bored, they
tend to eat to occupy themselves.
You also sleep more, but when you
wake up, you tend to still feel ex-
hausted.
A way to get out of feeling
bored is to go outside and enjoy
the fresh air. Being outside can help
with anxiety, depression, and anger.
It also can make you healthier.
Some activities would include bik-
ing riding, walking/running, fish-
ing, camping, and swimming.
However, sometimes individu-
als do not have the interest to do
activities outside as others do.
Some activities that those individu-
als could be doing inside include
cooking, coloring/drawing, paint-
ing your nails, listening to music,
playing video games, or watching a
movie. This meaning enjoy your
summer, and always make the best
of it, even if your day is somehow
ruined by boredom.

Embarrassing Moments by Emily
It was a family night out, and I had to go to the bathroom. I asked my mom if I
could go to the bathroom. I went to the bathroom, but I didn’t know how to
lock the door because I was like five years old. Instead of locking the door, I
just closed it and went to the bathroom. Right as I went, the door opened,
and a girl walked in. The whole restaurant could see me on the toilet, and
then the girl apologized and walked right out.

One day, my friend came over to my house so we could play. We went out-
side, found this big toad, and I picked it up. We went to the trampoline, and
my friend dared me to kiss the toad on the butt, so I did. It was horrible. Af-
ter I was done kissing it, the toad peed on my hand!

Flying To Summer by Bryce
Volume 7, Issue 7 Page 15
Planning to take a summer vacation that involves
flying? As long as you are prepared for the flight, it will
be very enjoyable. While thinking of the weight limit that
is enforced at the airport still don't be afraid to pack
what you want. If you get to the airport and have ex-
ceeded the weight limit, the porters will give you a plas-
tic bag as a carry on to put some of your clothes in. The
only problem with that is if you already have a carry on,
you have to decide which carry on you want to bring. You
are only allowed one carry on. To check one bag (50
pounds or less) it costs 25 dollars. The carry on is free,
but it must be under 20 pounds.
While you're on the plane and waiting for it to
take off, be sure you have everything you want. You
aren't allowed to open the overhead bin during flight
unless absolutely necessary. I personally suggest to try
and get an aisle seat. It's easier to sit there and stretch
your legs out. Although if you get a window seat, you
have a great view. It will take a few minutes before the
plane actually takes off because everyone needs to be
seated.
The feeling you get while the plane takes off is a
feeling that's hard to explain. It takes a couple minutes to
have the plane even in the air. So while half of the plane
is going up, it feels like the other half of the plane is go-
ing down. The rest of the ride should be smooth, as long
as you don't hit turbulence. If the plane goes through
turbulence that means you're going through a wind
pocket. The plane will rock and shake, but it's nothing to
worry about. At times, the turbulence can get really
rough, and the flight attendants will ask all the passen-
gers to sit down. If you are the type of person who gets
motion sickness, then you should take a motion sickness
pill before the flight just in case.
As the flight ends, you will notice the plane slow-
ing down. The nose of the plane will start heading
straight down. There is no walking around allowed as the
plane descends. When the plane lands on the runaway,
it's somewhat jolting to the human body. Be prepared for
that.
Getting off the plane is a slow process. Everyone
has to grab their carry on bags from the overhead bins,
and you have to wait for the pilot to give the okay to get
off. The plane will begin to empty, and the people will be
heading to get their checked bags. There will be signs in
the airport that direct you to get your luggage. When you
get to the correct carousel, it will take a little bit before
any bags start coming out, as the men who are unloading
the bags have a lot of work to do.
If you are planning to take a round trip, then you
will have to start this process all over again. Enjoy your
vacation, and if your bags get lost, well, that's another
story.

You are in prison with Barry and Albert. The three of you are looking straight ahead. You’re in front, then Barry, then Albert. A guard
has three black and two white hats. He randomly puts one on each of your heads. Albert can see your and Berry’s hat. Berry can see
yours, and you can see no one’s. None of you know what the color you have on your own head. The guard says, “If anyone can tell me
with 100% certainty the color of your own hat, uttering no one else’s, you may all go free.” He tells Albert to answer first. Albert is a
very honest and intelligent person, but he says, “I don’t know. There’s no way of knowing for sure.” The guard then asks Barry. Barry is
also intelligent and rational, but he also cannot tell. He comes to you, and you say the color of the hat with 100% certainty. The guard
then has no choice but to release all three of you. What was the color of the hat that was on your head?
Explanation: You have to think about what the other men couldn’t see. Albert couldn’t have seen two white hats or he would have
known his is black. He either saw two black hats or a black and a white hat, so he couldn’t have known for sure what he was wearing.
Hearing Albert and knowing he could not have seen two white hats, the only way for Berry to know his hat is if he sees a white hat in
front so he knows his own is black. However, Berry was also unsure.
A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed
him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few
days later, she killed her sister. What is her motive for killing her sister?
1. Answer: You are wearing a black hat. 2. Answer: She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again.
