The Falmouth Prevention Partnership, in cooperation with the Falmouth Police, Gosnold on

Cape Cod, and Falmouth High School, presented a community forum aimed at preventing and treating opiate abuse

on Cape Cod. The forum was held from 7 to 9 pm on Monday, April 28, at

Falmouth High School, located at 847 Gifford Street. Falmouth Community Television cablecast the live event on Public Channel 13 and Educational Channel 14 so that the discussion

could be made accessible to all. The coverage will be re-cablecast on Public Channel 13, Educational Channel 14

and Government Channel 15 throughout the month of May and will

be available for viewing on demand on FCTV’s YouTube channel.

ORIENTATION This one-hour class is offered each month to all new members and open to the public. There is no obligation to attend this one-session course but it is mandatory for anyone wanting to take other training or use FCTV facilities. Learn more about FCTV. Prerequisite: None Thursday: May 1, 6:00-7:00 pm Open to the public and newcomers welcome! KICKSTARTER* This two-part, one-on-one class will walk participants through creating an engaging Kickstarter campaign. Everything from setting up an account, shooting and editing a pitch video, deciding on incentives and promoting the campaign via social media will be covered. Class scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Prerequisite: None *Fee: $30 FCTV members, $60 non-members PART ONE: Friday: May 2, 2:00 - 4:00 pm PART TWO: Friday: May 9, 2:00 - 4:00 pm GOOGLE for NONPROFITS* In this one-session seminar, participants will learn how FCTV has integrated Google for Nonprofits into its daily work-flow by using Google Drive, Google Hangout, Google Calendar, YouTube, etc. Participants will also receive recommendations on how their nonprofit’s webmaster can utilize Google for Nonprofits. Prerequisite: None *Fee: $15 FCTV members, $30 non-members Monday, May 5, 3:00 - 4:30 pm INTRO TO COMPUTERS* In this one-session seminar, participants learn basic computer skills using FCTV’s Mac computers. Topics include: turning the computer on and off, using the mouse and keyboard, navigating in the Finder window, opening a web-browser, searching with Google, and typing an email. Prerequisite: None *Fee: $30 non-members Tuesday: May 6, 3:00 - 4:00 pm INTRO to ANIMATION*: This one-session class introduces participants to several animation techniques including 2D and 3D traditional animation as well as 2D and 3D computer animation. Multiple films are screened in order to showcase each animation technique. Prerequisite: None *Fee: $10 for non-members Thursday: May 8, 7:00 - 8:30 pm INTRO to iPAD* This one-session seminar explores Apple’s iPad and covers frequently asked questions about apps, networking, and synchronization with other devices. Prerequisite: None *Fee: $15.00 for FCTV members, $30.00 for non-members Friday: May 9, 2:00 - 4:00 pm VOICEOVER TECHNIQUES This one-session seminar is designed to offer techniques and best practices for creating effective voiceovers for documentary projects. Prerequisite: Intro to Studio or Field Production Tuesday: May 13, 7:00 - 9:00 pm PLANNING YOUR PRODUCTION This one-session workshop presents producers with various tools to help organize and structure productions while increasing professionalism. Prerequisite: Intro to Studio or Field Production

Behind the Badge - Awards and Swearing-In Ceremony Falmouth Police Department held a ceremony to award officers and introduce new officers in a swearing-in ceremony on April 4, 2014. Police Chief Dunne conducted the event and FCTV was there to record and re-cablecast on Government Access Channel 15. Falmouth Polling Location Changes A detailed interview with Town Clerk Michael Palmer reveals the decision made to change some polling locations in the Town of Falmouth. Falmouth Finance Director Jennifer Petit After her first year on the job, FCTV sits down with Finance Director Jennifer Petit to discuss the position and her work thus far in Falmouth.
