Tweedie & Associates Equine Veterinary Servicesin conjunction with Groupe France Elevage presents 3 first class stallions
QuintusPavarotti VD Helle x Garitchou AAQuintus, by Pavarotti VD Helle is the perfect combination of looks, temperament, ability and pedigree. He is an international level competitor and placed 10th at the 2008 Olympics. He is a half brother to the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist Jus De Pomme as well as being a half brother to the showjumpers Richebourg, Shogoun II and Magister. His dam line is absolutely fi rst class, with his grand dam being sired by the famous Alme. This is a stallion who has had limited breeding opportunites due to his competition schedule. A beautiful horse who competed at the highest level in the 2002 European Championships and was still competing at the top of the sport in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A horse that has demonstrated soundness and longevity in his career. His offspring are exceptional types and we eagerly await their entry into the competition arena.
ORLANDOHeartbreaker x Darco BWPThis exceptional horse offers breeders the chance to use the celebrated Heartbreaker Darco cross. Orlando has proven himself as a competitor at the highest level of the sport and his progeny are now starting to demonstrate his value as a stallion. This is exemplifi ed by the rapid progression of Ohlala under Lauren Hough, who progressed from winning the age class at Aachen to winning Grand Prix classes in America. His progeny in Europe are showing great rideability and scope. His offspring are well suited to the owner breeder or professional. This is a stallion who offers Australian breeders the chance to use proven genetics.
These exceptional stallions offer the Australian breeder the opportunity to take advantage of the best bloodlines Europe can offer with the security of a live foal guarantee (terms and conditions apply).
Quool Du Bois MargotL’ Arc de Triomphe x Grand VeneurThis is a true German French fusion. His sire, L’Arc de Triomphe was born in Oldenburg by Landor S out of a Pilot mare, and his French dam is by Grand Veneur out of an Ibrahim mare. In 2007 he was crowned the Supreme
Champion of 3 year old Selle Français Stallions at St Lô.According to Arnaud Evain: “Quool du Bois Margot delivers the style and movement of his father with the character and calmness of his grandfather. He is a half-brother on his mother’s side
to many champions and an heir to one of the very best Selle Français bloodlines which has produced Olympic champions Joyau d’Or, Barbarian and other champions including Rox de la Touche. He has stamped his fi rst generation of foals with his build and his movement.’ His offspring have inherited exceptional movement especially when crossed with blood mares, which will suit the Australian Thoroughbred broodmares. This stallion also passes on his beautiful movement and can contribute this scope when crossed with a thoroughbred mare.

What an amazing twelve months it has been for this magnifi cent son of Voltaire! Kannan skyrocketed to world wide fame when Nino Des Buissonets won the individual show jumping gold medal with Steve Guerdat at the 2012 London Olympics. This result, combined with the sheer number of Kannan progeny competing at international level has resulted in Kannan now being ranked number two in the World Show Jumping Breeding Rankings.
Not a week goes by without a Kannan offspring showing it’s ability at the top of the sport. Possibly the most exciting fact for Australian breeders to take note of, is that Kannan progeny excel in the outdoor arena, where power and ability to jump and gallop come to the fore. The Spanish Sunshine Circuit gave everyone who bred to Kannan last season a weekend to remember, when Kannan progeny won four different individual Grand Prix competitions. A pretty amazing result.
Riders report these horses fi t into the team very well, have a great trainable temperament and an unstoppable will to win. The qualities are complemented by the necessary scope and carefulness required from the modern day performance horse.
Serious Breeders can not look past Kannan. He presents breeders with the opportunity to choose the best Europe has to offer with the security of a live foal guarantee (see Terms & Conditions). His fertility has been outstanding and this season he has averaged 1.5 cycles per pregnancy or embryo in Australia.

premonition (imp) licensed and per-formance tested Hanoverian stallion
(HHSA and AWHA), Chestnut 2008 16.1 ½, Perigeuex/Lordanos/Werther
Premonition has it all. Beauty, fantastic temperament, balanced expressive and powerful movement and a powerful jump.
With scores of 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, canter and cross country and 9 for free-jumping during his performance test, he came fourth overall.
Perigueux, Premonition’s sire, has just been ranked third in the breeding index of the top ten sires of Germany. Trained by
Eva Bitta, he is jumping successfully on the international circuit. He was recently described by Hannoverian Verband expert, Ludwig Christmann, as one of the promis-ing sires at the moment. A filly by Peri-geuex just won the 4-year-old Hanoverian freejumping competition in Germany. Lordanos, on the dam’s side, is also one of Germany’s best showjumping sires.
Clem Smith (World Cup showjumper) Premonition’s trainer and rider states: “Premonition is very trainable with a won-derful nature. He has loads of scope and with his careful technique I feel that he will
be a Grand Prix horse of the future.”more photos on websitesee page 85

cera Performance Horses is a bou-tique Holsteiner stud which breeds
purpose bred showjumpers and eventers for international sport.
With a mare band boasting mothers of and full sisters to licensed stallions in Europe you would be hard pushed to find a better bunch of performance producing mares anywhere. They have mares that descend from the direct families of Casall la Silla, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum’s current star Bella Donna, as well as Diara-do, Coriano and Corofino, amongst others.
Why do they place such importance on the mare? Showjumping is breeding. Most of the horses competing at the top level in the discipline of showjumping have sib-
lings that are also competing internation-ally. This is not a coincidence. It simply emphasises the importance of the dam line and the role that good mares play in any breeding program.
Let’s take a look at the current FEI WBFSH Rankings for Showjumping Horses. Cristallo comes in at number one. He is by Caretino, a successful 1.60m showjumper. Cristallo’s mother also produced a full brother to Cristallo, which competes internationally. Nick Skelton’s Big Star came in 2nd. He is by a 1.60m showjumper (Quick Star) out of a mare by a 1.50m showjumper (Nimmerdor). The Nimmerdor mare is out of a mare by another 1.60m horse (Ramiro Z). Not sur-
prisingly Big Star also has a sibling, which is a successful international showjumper. Coming in 3rd on the rankings is Nino des Buissonnets (Olympic Gold Medallist). Nino is by Kannan, a leading sire, but look at his dam line. His dam sire and his grand dam sire were both successful international showjumpers to 1.60m level. Coming in 4th on the rankings is Casall la Silla. Casall like Cristallo is by Caretino, a successful 1.60m showjumper and he is out of a mare by another successful 1.60m showjumper Lavall I (by Landgraf). Ben Maher’s stallion Triple X III is 5th on the list. His pedigree is also littered with internationally successful showjumpers. 6th is Flexible, an Irish Sport Horse, and no surprises here, both his sire and his dam were successful 1.60m horses.
It is also not a co-incidence that the Holsteiner Studbook was the leading Studbook for showjumping horses in 2012 according to the FEI WBFSH World Rank-ings. Holsteiners have been at the top of their sport for decades.
If you are considering sourcing a well bred youngster from Europe then you should take the time to view what Cera Performance Horses have in their pad-docks right here in Australia. You will not be disappointed!see page 85

armada is a six-year-old purebred Trakehner stallion combining many
of the most successful of the imported Trakehner bloodlines brought to Australia. Identified as a stallion prospect by the ACE Group at two weeks of age, he has
gone on to obtain his provisional license from AWHA and was also recognised as stallion quality by the Trakehner Verband in 2010.
Armada was broken in, and has been brought on slowly by Will Enzinger over the past four years. He is now starting his first season as an event horse and although his outings have been limited at the time of writing, he has never been out-side the top 5 against strong competition.
Armada embodies the classic Trakeh-ner type, he is lighter boned than most Warmblood stallions but combines Warmblood movement with Thoroughbred stamina. A horse so handsome that he catches the eye of any ‘showie’ but with the movement of a Grand Prix horse and a scopey-ness over fences to turn the head of any showjumper.
And why would anyone be surprised?
His father APH Spiegel was a nation-ally titled dressage horse to Advanced level and his Grandsire Kassiber was an Australian Advanced Eventer of the Year before becoming one of the most successful sires of dressage horses ever to be brought into Australia. On the dam line Armada boasts Lutz, a Grand Prix Dressage horse and Benito who was a successful showjumper and sire of a number of National dressage champions in Australia.
If you are looking for an eventing sire perfectly suited to putting the right touch of Warmblood on your Thoroughbred mare or refine a heavier Warmblood, then look no further this season. Armada’s semen is fully tested and he has 10 ex-tremely promising progeny on the ground up to two years of age.see page 91

What began as a low-key breeding programme in 1998, a year after the
Hargreaves family returned to Australia af-ter many years living abroad, subsequently took a big leap forward when Visage van de Olmenhoeve arrived in Sydney in 2003. Then just 5 years old, the young stallion took the showjumping world by storm.
Almost 10 years on, Visage has been a consistent sire whose progeny are continuing to make their mark in all disciplines. They stand out particularly for their trainability and temperament, and they just keep slotting in comfortably and competitively at whatever level their rider wants them to perform.
Mare quality has always been a primary consideration in our programme, and this
has also ensured a very talented set of youngstock carrying the Copabella label. Toddingham was a foundation mare in the early years, and her progeny – China Doll, Conspiring, Vertigo, Vigil and Venice – have all done us proud. Holland Rose, a Quidam de Revel mare, has also pro-duced outstanding foals, including Cadiz, Verdi, Cashmir and Voltage. Courchevel, by Cascavelle, has given us Vermont and Victoria to date, while Blue Crystal, full sister to Warlord, has produced Valor, Cascade and Verve.
And now the focus is on the next generation, with superb Cadiz foals being produced out of young Visage mares. In fact, at a recent assessment tour for the AWHA and the Trakehner Association,
two of these colts, Cypher out of Vermont, and Camouflage out of Venice, were as-sessed of premium stallion quality. So the future of breeding at Copabella is looking very bright.see page 75

Diamond B Farm has been success-fully breeding jumping horses for 30
years. Starting with the imported Hano-varian Grand Prix horse, Skyhigh and continuing on with a mix of good Aussie talent, proven Thoroughbred lines and then more imported stock.
As consultants and trainers to rising influential breeders like ASB and Oaks Sport Horses, Diamond B’s record is second to none.
With the huge, ongoing influence of Vivant and ASB Conquistador, the challenge was to find another stallion to complement, improve and add too the undeniable legacy of these sires.
In Baluga, we believe we have found that stallion. We believe he is not only a future Grand Prix horse but importantly, has the attributes to become the next influential sire.Diamond B Farm – the proof is in the competition arena.see page 89

There are so many striking faces and upstanding frames, but the thing
that really strikes a chord when you walk through the foal paddocks at Finch Farm is the overall depth and consistency of the 2012/13 foals. Make no mistake about it, Finch Farm are breeding some serious competition horses. Beside each foal stands a mare with body, presence, and intelligence, many of them derived from Australian Thoroughbred lines well known for their toughness and desire in the ring. It’s wonderful to see these maternal attributes coming out in their progeny as more Finch Farm horses come of age and begin their competition careers.
Finch Farm’s principal breeding manger, David Finch, asserts that his approach is to produce a horse who finds the job of modern performance easy: ‘The type of horse we’re breeding at Finch Farm is modern, forward-thinking, bold,
careful, and attractive. It should be easy for the horse to move, easy for the horse to jump, he has to think forward, and he has to be able to move his body’. With the degree of technical difficulty constantly in-creasing in modern competition, it is clear to see the advantage of such a horse.
The continual improvements in quality of the on-farm breeding stock and the tireless research that has informed the selection of imported genetics has fine-tuned David’s ability to breed horses that live up to his philosophy. What’s exciting is that the horses being produced here are not simply reproductions of their sires or their dams, but a whole new creature that combines the talents and athleticism of both parents.
None of these horses have happened by accident. There is a grand plan in place here, and that is to produce horses that are competitive on the international
stage. As I stand watching the foals play in a clearing between trees in the dusky afternoon light, I can’t help but think what a lovely story that would be – to see a Finch-Farm-bred horse go all the way from paddock to podium. Finch Farm jumping into the future. see page 77

equus Australia have been breeding and producing jumpers for over 20
years. Whether it be in the competition ring or with our breeding program, we aim to produce a horse that has had the best start possible and has the quality and abil-ity to go on when they leave our hands.
Our broodmares have been chosen for their talent and bloodlines and cover-ing them with the likes of Voltaire, Lux, Carthago, Calvaro, Vivant and Conquis-tador has produced the current crop of horses competing under the Equus prefix.
For the last three seasons we have used our own Higgins, adding For Pleasure – one of the most successful jumpers of the last 15 years and Heraldik – the eventing super sire and producer of elite com-
petitors in all three Olympic disciplines to our program.
Equus currently have for sale: competition horses, youngsters in work ready for further education together with weanlings, yearlings and two year olds by Higgins.
Equus Australia is able to help you find the right horse for your needs. Rod has spent a lifetime sourc-ing horses for clients, from young stock to Grand Prix, so call us if you are looking to buy or wanting to sell that “special horse”.check out all the photos on our equus australia Facebook page.see page 92

at Sandhills our breeding program re-volves around winning in the compe-
tition arena. Following on from the win at the Adelaide International 4* with San-dhills Brillaire 2013 has got off to a great start for Sandhills. Recently at Sydney and Scone Horse Trials we competed a number of Sandhills-bred horses ranging from EvA 80 level through to 3*. Sandhills Special by Croftlea Artizan from a Stacca-to mare placed in the EvA 105, Sandhills Brillaire (4* mare by Staccato) won the CNC3* at Scone.
This performance-orientated breeding program produces horses that are proving to be very rideable and ooze quality in the competition environment. The winners of
Adelaide International for 2011 and 2012 are both by Staccato who himself was a successful 3* eventer and FEI dressage horse and was the No 1 ranked event-ing stallion in the world for a number of years. There is no doubt that the genetics used in the Sandhills breeding program have produced proven performers at the highest level.
If you want to own or ride a horse that shares your obsession for eventing as much as you do, then you must see for yourself the quality of foals, yearlings and young riding stock available at Sandhills.see page 87

shane and Mattea Davidson oper-ate Davidson Equestrian located at
Toowoomba in Queensland. Our leading stallion is Fairbanks Catargo (Indoctro/Grannus II/Zephyr Zing) who competed at the World Young Horse Showjumping Championships in Lanaken, Belgium in 2005. He has since gone on to be a successful World Cup competitor. He has
been very popular with the Eventing and Showjumping breeders and has produced two of our most successful competi-tion horses – Caspar and Cargo – who are both from his first season at stud. Caspar has competed at World Cup level showjumping and Cargo has competed successfully as an eventer, winning the Melbourne International 3DE at 2* level.
Both Shane and Mattea offer a reliable service in starting and training young horses. Shane is an NCAS Level 1 Gen-eral Coach and was awarded the 2011 Queensland Coach of the Year. Dr Mat-tea Davidson, also a level 1 coach and recently awarded EQ Sports Star of the Year 2012, performs all the reproductive work for the stud and clients’ horses. This includes AI with chilled or frozen semen, stallion collection, mare management, foaling down and neo-natal care.
A new addition to Davidson Equestrian is an exciting new colt, Sambucca D.
Sambucca D (Scolari/Gelriano/Diga-mist xx) will mature to 17hh and is by the stunning Scolari who boasts the Cham-pion bloodlines of dressage greats such as Sandro Hit, De Niro, Weltmeyer and Grenadier. He has recently been broken in to saddle and shows an enthusiastic work ethic, an active hind leg mechanic and superior ability over a fence proving he would be a suitable sire for the Dres-sage and Eventing breeders.
Davidson Equestrian pride themselves on having healthy, well trained, compet-itive and beautifully presented horses. This could not be done without the help of our excellent sponsors Saddleworld, CopRice, Schockemoehle and Water-view Park. Davidson Equestrian is one of the few places in Australia which can help you breed, produce, train and your compete your next champion in all the Olympic disciplines. see page 90

iHB showcases some of their new stallions available for next season as well as the most popular sires from
the past. The emphasis is on dual disci-pline stallions this year, especially among jumping sires.
Celle has Asti Spumante (Argentinus x Landfrieden/Landgraf), a winner in the Nations Cup in Hickstead, and bronze medal winning team member at the European Championships. Sire of several licensed sons and numerous successful competition horses in advanced level jumping, eventing and dressage.
The Valentino-Acorado son, Viscount , is a jet black stallion with an excellent long striding walk and swinging trot full of impulsion, with an uphill canter and tre-mendous ability. His style over the jump and flawless character made him a fa-vourite at the Hanoverian Stallion Licens-ing and he was named Premium stallion. He combines the valuable Valentino/Now or Never/Voltaire bloodlines from Holland, with the Acorado/Acord 11 (Hol) lines of Germany, and was named the most “com-plete” stallion of the 2011 Licensing. He is a gem because of his high scores for both dressage (126) and jumping (138).
Also interesting is the stallion Diacon-tinus (Diarado x Contendro 1), another Premium stallion with outstanding gaits and jumping ability.
From Paul Schockemoehle Interna-tional comes Qualdandro (Quick Star x Aldatus) who is an ideal jumping techni-cian. He had great success in compe-tition winning Nations Cups, medals in German and European Championships and Grand Prix: Warendorf, Morsele, Bonheiden and Belgium.
The jumping winner in the Mecklenburg licensing in Redefin 2012, Armicor (Armit-age x Cordalme), has a powerful push-off and jumping ability, a spotless technique, top bascule and fast reflexes. Then there is Cantolar (Canstakko x Singular Joter 1) a Premium stallion at the Hanoverian Licensing 2012, of noble appearance, outstanding technique and enormous jumping ability.
Chatender (Chacco Blue x Contender) is an exquisite looking young stallion displaying tremendous jumping ability, the best leg technique and bascule, and elastic, loose movements throughout his entire body. He is a true son of the top breeding sire Chacco Blue, who, sadly recently died, but who is still available in limited supply to early birds.
PSI also have Cinsy (Contendro 1 x For Pleasure) who is a clever jumping stallion with striking appearance. He scoredf 10 for free-jumping at his performance test and also displays supernormal basic gaits. His first crop left vigorous, modern
foals, many of which gained a premi-um. And at last, a son of Sandro Boy, Sandro’s Adel (Sandro Boy x Centadel/Cento) who has been bred strictly after PSI’s recipe of success. He has supple movement throughout, ground-covering walk, an always uphill canter and impres-sive jumping quality: First class technique, bascule and first and foremost - SCOPE!

Top performance horses have heart, courage, soundness and toughness –
the result of good breeding, sound upbring-ing and a great partnership with their rider.
At Oaks Sport Horses we have always been great believers in the quality of mares – not only pedigrees, but their con-formation, movement and especially their character. Our goal is to develop com-petitive youngsters who trust their riders – who are trainable and have that extra eagerness and ambition to maximize their inherited physical prowess.
Every one of our youngsters has a strong performance pedigree – out of our top performance mares and by proven
European stallions and champions and by imported young stallions carefully selected by Australian horsemen.
This year we introduce two new mares to our performance line-up, both with elite pedigrees. The KWPN mare to be campaigned as Oaks Impala, is by the Narcos II sire Tangelo. The other, Sweet Lana, is by Stolzenburg (Stakkato x Sandro) and out of renowned Dutch dam lines.
The proof is in the pudding and we are seeing our Oaks youngsters not only in the arena but on the podium making partnerships with their new owners.see page 91

at PPH we have a small band of mares that we breed from each year to our
own stallion Viscount and also to frozen semen. The majority are Thoroughbred with a couple of Warmbloods. They all have proven jumping lines, are athletic types and most importantly have great temperaments. We choose stallions to
complement each mare’s natural quali-ties. Each year some foals are sold and can also be purchased in utero.
Viscount is by the very colourful Cop-abella Visage out of our Thoroughbred mare Lanieve (Esperanto). Viscount has the most incredible temperament, which he passes to his progeny. His foals are all very athletic with lovely above average canters, and as an added bonus, approxi-mately 85% of them are coloured!
At PPH we have been breeding for eight years and in that time we have pro-duced some lovely horses including 2012 DJWTS 4yo jumping champion Forever (Faust Z x Grosvenor xx). We had wanted a Grosvenor mare and when I saw his daughter Capriceuse, I had to have her. We decided once the foal was born, we would breed her to Faust Z and race the Lago Delight foal when ready. Well, the
Marconi ended up a flying Machine and won 100k in three starts before unfortu-nately breaking down, and Forever won champion at DJWTS, so what a fantastic dual-purpose mare she was. We also bred Vengence who is Viscount’s full brother. Mick was so impressed when we got Viscount that he said the mare must go back to Copabella Visage! The result, Vengence, who placed 5th overall at DJWTS 2012!! Vengence will be standing at stud soon.
We love having the Thoroughbred lines in our foals as they add so much athlet-icism, carefulness and natural balance. They are quick thinking and easy to ed-ucate. Mix this with Warmblood and you get added strength. That recipe is working well for us so far so we will stick with it!see page 87

Bred at the prestigious Zangersheide Stud in Belgium, Renegade Z top-scored
for jumping at his 30-day test in Neustadt Dosse. An injury cut short his successful jumping career in Europe, but opened up the possibility for this magnificently bred and highly talented horse to come to Australia. In doing so he has brought with him a wealth of opportunity for Australian breeders, with his pedigree that reads like a pot-pourri of the best European lines.
Renegade Z’s sire is Ramiro Z, who, following an international showjumping career has earned the titles ‘Stallion of the Century’ and ‘King of Sires’ whilst standing at stud in Germany, Belgium and Holland. Ramiro Z is of course the sire of Ratina Z, gold and silver Olympic and WEG medallist; as well as many other top-class performers. He also happens to be the grandsire of Loretta, who is
the dam of Sandro Hit, Diamond Hit and Royal Hit; the super-sires of dressage breeding. This comes as no surprise, giv-en the well-documented preponderance of jumping bloodlines in dressage horses.
Renegade Z’s dam line is no less impressive. His dam sire is Quidam de Revel, pre-eminent jumping sire as well as Olympic performer himself. Renegade Z’s grand dam Calanda Z is full-sister to top stallions Calando I-V, sired by the incomparable Cor de la Bryère, one of the most influential sires in modern Warmblood breeding. Renegade Z’s entire family is littered with elite perform-ers and licensed breeding stock, and the signs from his progeny so far are that the tradition is set to continue. His European progeny include Red Classic, accepted into the Vechta Elite auction; and Ruswil who is happily jumping 1.6m in Europe (see http://www.globalchampionstour.com/profiles/horses/2944/ruswil/gallery/).
We are quietly excited as his first progeny under saddle in Australia are making their appearance, and we are as always de-lighted to make available a stallion of this superlative quality to Australian breeders. see page 83

Eurocommerce Berlin x Quidam de Revel x Corrado IGrey Holsteiner colt, born 1st July 2011, Holsteiner Stamm 318d2
Sire Eurocommerce Berlin needs no introduction to the world of showjumping, he was a highly successful international showjumper being both World & European Champion in his day. Berlin’s sire Cassini I jumped internationally as did Berlin’s dam Estia (by Caretino - sire of current world No I Cristallo and world No 4 Casall la Silla).
The colts dam Zamira is by the legendary Quidam de Revel who com-peted successfully at 1.60m level internationally. Quidam de Revel’s sire Jalisco B is also a legend in his own right, being both a successful international showjumper & sire of international showjumpers. Quid-am’s dam Dirka was also a star in sport, being successful at interna-tional level under Nelson Pessoa (Rodrigo Pessoa’s father).
The colts grand dam sire is the world famous showjumping progeni-tor Corrado I. Corrado impressed right from the beginning when he received a perfect 10 for free jumping at his performance test. Under Franke Sloothaak he went on to be a successful international show-jumper winning numerous Grand Prixs & World Cups.
This colt descends from a very strong dam line. His grandmother Solange is a full sister to Corofi no I & II, both successful international showjumpers and sires.
This guy is destined for the international competition arena. He is also a very commercial stallion prospect for the future.

Travel to the Cayuse Sportaloosa Stud at Manilla near Tamworth, NSW and
you will be blown away with paddocks filled with spotted sporthorses. For over 40 years Vince and Samantha McAuliffe have had a passion for these horses. While Vince concentrates more on the cowhorse types, Samantha has made it a goal to produce the best spotted horses for the Olympic disciplines.
With the Cayuse Fewsion line of Appaloosas a nucleus of fewspot mares were bred. The fewspot pattern in the LP Leopard Complex is a homozygous gene, that although looking white in appear-ance produces a huge array of spotted horses when crossed to solid Warmblood or Thoroughbred horses. These fewspot mares were bred to the best Warmblood sires here and with European frozen semen. Stunning, talented foals were produced by Salute, Contango II, Wolken-stein, Earl, Grand Cru, Rotspon, River-
side, Smash Hit and this year hopefully by Hunters Scendix and Quando Quando!
Three foals were sired by Balou Du Rou-et and the McAuliffes were thrilled recently when Bling Du Rouet owned by Georgie Ray of Brockhurst stud jumped successful-ly in the 5-year-old jumping class at Dres-sage with the Stars, Werribee. Interestingly, Cayuse Rain King, the full brother to the dam of this horse is an A grade jumper in the Victorian pony club circuit with young rider Elise Whitaker(photo).
A couple of years ago they imported Loris Flashpoint Af Lyn, a purebred black leopard Knabstrupper stallion from Ger-many. The Knabstrupper is a rare spotted Danish Warmblood with awesome move-ment and jumping ability. He has been crossed to some of the Warmblood-cross daughters and now his oldest foals are yearlings and show a lot of promise for the performance arena.
Cayuse horses have been sold overseas and to every state in Australia as they are reknown for their trainability, good looks and
movement and natural jumping ability. This season an exciting young stallion is being added to the ranks, a palomino fewspot leopard by the Grand Cru stallion Cayuse A Grand Illusion (now at stud in Victoria), a half-brother to Bling Du Rouet and from a top producing Fewsion mare. The McAu-liffes expect him to produce some very fan-cy jumping and dressage horses from solid Warmblood and Thoroughbred mares.see page 90
Tweedie & Associates Equine Veterinary Services are pleased to offer a fantastic
selection of showjumping stallions from our European partners, Groupe France Elevage. These stallions are available under the generous terms of our live foal guarantee when approved breeding centres are used. Our reputation as distributors of best quality semen has been cemented by the outstanding results achieved during the 2012-2013 breeding season.
In the last 12 months Kannan has really hit a high note as the sire of Olympic Individual Gold Medal winner, Nino des Buissonnets. His offspring continue to show that they can really jump and are very rideable. Kannan has continued to demonstrate that he is not a one horse stallion and has jumped up the World Showjumping breeding Rankings to No 2. With over 20 offspring scoring over 100 points, he is developing into a stallion
that will be remembered for years to come. Put simply, Kannan is a game changer. This is a great opportunity for Australian breeders to use this stallion over their best mares and take advantage of our live foal guarantee available when using approved breeding centres. We also offer our live foal guaran-tee when embryo transfer is undertaken because we understand that many riders do not want to wait until retirement to breed with their top competition mounts.
Kannan is joined by 4 other great stallions, including Orlando (Heartbreaker x Darco), Quintus (Pavarotti v/d Helle x Opaline Des Pins), Quool Du Bois Margot ( L’Arc De Triomphe x Spiree), and Cab-dulla Du Tillard ( Abdulla x Quanagra). These stallions all offer the discerning breeder the opportunity to utilise some of the very best European blood lines . see page 72
cornado was the best stallion of the Northern Westfalian stallion approval
2005. He received the best showjumping index at the stallion licensing in 2006. For freejumping he received 10 out of 10. The riders voted his jumping with 9.75. His willingness and learning ability scored 9.0 and his temperament 8.5.
Cornado is ranked within the top 1 % of Germany’s overall showjumping genetics. The breeding index of the showjumping is 155, and he already has 3 approved sons. He himself was participating in the final of the 2008 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf and competed successfully at the World Championship for young horses in Lanaken (Belgium). He has already placed, within the last year, up to interna-
tional 5 star Grand Prix’s and collected World Cup points with his current rider Markus Ehning. He recently placed 2nd in the Gucci Gold Cup at the Longines Hong Kong Masters in March 2013.
Cornado’s mother Acobata achieved a showjumping index of 131. She also de-livered the approved stallion Cornado II, (fullbrother to Cornado), and the approved stallion Christophoros. The grandmother Athena gave birth to 9 successful show-jumpers all having competed at interna-tional level. The grandfather Athlet Z is a well known top showjumper with superb genetics. The Holstein stallions Cantus and Cor de la Bryère are also part of Cornado’s pedigree. In addition to these top show jumping sport horses, there are many internationally competitive dressage horses sharing this line. The nRW auctions are marketing and
selling foals and youngsters carry-ing cornado’s pedigree. For further enquiries see page 71

Viscount is the perfect example of the modern performance stallion. He is tall and athletic with lovely paces and an exceptional canter. His jump is light and very scopey and careful with a textbook technique. Viscount is the image of his talented sire, Copabella Visage, who has won major classes both here and internationally.
Viscount’s temperament is second to none being extremely quiet and trainable taking everything in his stride. He has thrown all of the qualities into the foals he has produced to date. He has a 85% colour strike rate and gets nearly all mares in foal first serve.

it has been a busy and exciting year for Yalambi and its team of Rory
Hovell and Alison Rowland. Both were members of the successful Australian team in New Zealand, Alison on Bickley Brook Bella and Rory on his stallion, Yalambi’s Val d’Isere. With their sights very firmly set on WEG 2014, they are now in Europe and will join an Australian Team at Linz CSIO*** along with Evie Buller on Yalambi’s Landor.
Yalambi’s Val d’Isere VDL made his World Cup & Grand Prix debut late in 2012 and finished the season with 2nds at World Cups at Adelaide Royal and Syd-ney’s SIEC and in the Grand Prix at the National Championships. His European campaign should prove exciting.
Yalambi’s Carpino Z has also continued his great competition form with an im-pressive 5th placing in the 1.35m Cham-pionship at NZ’s Horse of the Year. His success as a breeding stallion continues. In the 2013 ACE Assessment Tour he
produced the Western Australian Cham-pion foal (Y’s In Vogue out of Y’s Trendy Lady - Indoctro x Nimmerdor) as well as a number of Elite Foals. Carpino Z is now in Europe and like Val D’Isere, available via frozen semen this season.
Yalambi is proud to introduce two new exciting 3 year old stallions for this season: The Hanoverian bred Yalambi’s Cassini Rosso (Cassini II x Stolzenberg x Lordanos x Werther) and the Dutch Warm-blood, Yalambi’s Fair Diamond (Indorado x Indoctro x Nimmerdor x Marco Polo).
These stallions carry the most current and popular stallion lines from Germany & Holland and were easily approved at their licensings earlier this year. They will both be available with fresh semen.
Yalambi has also added two young mares from Germany to its breeding herd: a Casall mare in foal to Quidam de Revel, and a Cornet Obolensky mare in foal to a Darco x Chin Chin stallion.
Yalambi congratulates new owners of Yalambi Horses: Maddi Stephens with Yalambi’s Cambridge (Hattrick x Cal-vados), Yalambi’s Dior (Val D’Isere x
Indoctro) & Yalambi’s Icon (Carpino Z x Val D’Isere); Evie Buller with Yalambi’s Chiquita (Chin Chin x Indoctro) & Enrique (Vegas x Chin Chin), and Dave Cameron with Yalambi’s Cavalier (Conquistador x Wolfgang).
We are very proud and grateful for our partnership with Mitavite Feeds, which has been instrumental in the success-ful production and development of our Yalambi Horses.see page 78
summersea now breeds few foals but what is produced is of the high-
est international standards, often with rare and difficult to procure bloodlines. Summersea has supplied elite genetics
to many of the leading jumping studs and riders of Australia including Charlemagne Ego Z, Concorde Ego Z, Cartalme’Ego Z, Cocaine Ego Z, Capulet Ego Z, Romany Ego Z, Ego Casablanca, Corsica Ego Z, Celeborn Ego Z, Ego Creighton, Pyree Ego Z, Luxury Ego Z, Bravado Ego Z, Patricio Ego Z, Ego Gallus.
We are expecting foals by Rex Z from the magnificent Air Jordan Z x Carthago Z mare, Lux Z and Mr. Blue foals from our two Carthago Z mares, Cypriano and the sportpony; Cool Dancer.
Summersea does not ‘sell the rest to keep the best’. We do not compete there-fore all stock are for sale.
Our resident stallion Camelot continues to excel as a sire. Camelot stock, despite being slow maturers (the oldest are 11), have won or placed at most of the prestig-ious events including the DJWTS, SIEC Futurity, nationwide State Championships and World Cup events. They have shown the fortitude and character to be success-ful amongst imported and professionally trained competition horses under both am-ateur and professional riders. Even more
impressive is that his success as a sire has resulted from an extremely small num-ber of mares covered. Per brood mare, Camelot arguably is the leader of show-jumping stallions in Australia. He strongly passes on the important showjumping characteristics of a structurally sound conformation; balanced, flexible canter; instinctive flying changes and prodigious jump, over a wide variety of mares.
Our super jumping sport pony stallion Ego Oliver who is now in training with tal-ented young rider, Isabella Stone. Watch out for them.
First notice of sale: Cattulus Ego Z - Weanling colt by Carthago Z x Parco - Lux Z - Calvin Z. Classic type; long leg-ged, soft with excellent balance, this colt will turn heads worldwide. He is also one of the last available in the world from the too early infertile, Carthago Z whose stock remain both sought after and elusive on the international market.
