Goal: ’Firm Founda on’ Sponsorships to Fund Programming in FY 2014
With our eyes fixed on sustainability, the Hobbs Chamber in‐
tends to structure future budgets where membership dues fund
our overhead, while corporate sponsorships fund programming,
which is dictated by our four‐point strategy: policy, advocacy,
member educa on and coopera ve marke ng. Please consider
partnering with the Hobbs Chamber as a Firm Founda on corpo‐
rate funder next fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2013.
Sponsors will receive excep onal visibility for the excep onal
leadership they demonstrate in suppor ng Hobbs Chamber pro‐
gramming. All sponsors will receive prominent, front‐page place‐
ment on the new Hobbs Chamber website, a lis ng on each com‐
munica on disseminated to the Chamber’s membership, banner
recogni on at Hobbs Chamber func ons, and other considera‐
ons. Granite sponsors receive a monthly full‐page ad space in the
Chamber Chronicle; Marble, a half‐page ad space; and Slate, a
quarter‐page ad space. Tickets to events like the annual banquet
and others will be distributed in similar propor ons.

Watch your thoughts; they lead to a tudes. Watch your a tudes; they lead to words. Watch your words; they lead to ac ons. Watch your ac ons; they lead to habits. Watch your habits; they form your character. Watch your character; it determines your des ny. These words of unknown origin tell us that our silent and o en subconscious choices shape our future. Every aspect of our lives, at home and at work, can be improved if we use our power to think, reflect, and make conscious choices about our thoughts, a tudes, words, ac ons, and habits. Instead, many of us think of ourselves as vic ms. We complain about our circumstances and what others did to us. Whatever psychological comfort there is in feeling powerless and blameless when things aren’t going right, vic ms lead unsa sfied lives in the end. We’re most vulnerable to vic mi s when we’re under the influence of powerful emo ons like fear, insecurity, anger, frustra on, grief, and depression. These feelings can be so overwhelming that we be‐lieve our state of mind is inevitable. Our only hope
is that they’ll go away on their own. Yet it’s during mes of emo onal tumult that using our power to
choose our thoughts and a tudes is most im‐portant. We can’t make pain go away, but we can refuse to suffer. Even when we don’t like any of our choices, we do have some – once we realize we can take con‐trol. It isn’t easy, but what we do and how we choose to feel about ourselves can have a profound impact on the quality of our lives. Vic ms may get sympathy for a while, but that isn’t nearly enough. Taking personal responsibility for our happiness and success can be scary, but the payoff is enor‐mous. Although we can’t make our lives perfect, we can make them be er – usually a lot be er.
‘Vic mi s’ a condi on not of circumstance, but of choice
