CITY KIDZ GOT SKILLZ MAY 2009
GBAPP’s City Kidz Got Skillz was truly a pre-mier youth talent showcase. Over 200 people sup-ported the kids at the Art Exhibit & Reception on May 8th at People’s United Bank and the Talent Show on May 9th at Down-town Cabaret Theatre, both in Bridgeport, Connecticut. By providing this fun opportunity for youth age 5-18 to express their amazing gifts of visual and performing arts, over 60 talented youth had the courage to step into the spot-light for a chance to win cash prizes and the chance to get recognized by tal-ent scouts in the area. City Kidz 2006 Alumni, Anatasha Machuca and the Bridgeport Children’s Conservatory of Dance performed at the Art Exhibit & Reception; and guest performances by 3.2.1 Gospel Group, Double Up Dance Group, and 3-time Apollo winner, Omar Wilson had everyone dancing in their seats at the talent show. Professional judges pro-
vided positive feedback to each contestant and the young people were eager to speak to the judges after the show for more.
