Great job, Scotties! The Scotty girls finished off their trip to the State

Class B Golf Tournament in Huntley with smiles. Not

only do they get to dye Coach Riggin’s mustache

and eyebrows red, these girls are betting fools!

They also wagered that for every par or birdie

made at State they could paint one toe nail. The

team collectively had 10 pars! The Glasgow golfing

gamblers are, left to right: Heidi Moon, Lexi Phelke

Amy Nelson, Lauren Runningen, Taylor Palm and

Fallon Larsen. Poor Coach Riggin, he’s gonna look

awesome at the Scotty Sports Banquet slated fo

    Tuesday, May 31st.

their Scotty sports careers on Wednesday at the State Class B Golf Tournament

Amy was Glasgow’s top nisher, placing just out of the top 20 with a 97-105—202

Senior leadership prevailed as Lauren was Glasgow’s second best golfer on the

Eaglerock Golf Course with a 110-121—231. Scotty sophomore Heidie Moon sho

a consistent 120-119—239; freshman Lexi Phelke shot a 122-140—262; and Taylo

Palm, a junior, carded a 139-124—263. Fallon Larsen, who was the alternate, is

When I began my campaign or the Montana Houseo Representatives District 33 I planned on runninga clean campaign, because i I have learned one thinggrowing up on the Hi-Line, it is that a man’s handshakeis his word. My opponent and I agreed the very first timewe met to be civil, to ocus on the issues important tothis district and not to ound our campaigns on baselessattacks. My opponent, however, has recently sent out amailer ull o lies and deceit aimed at deaming me inthe eye o the public.

I am writing today to tell every resident o District33 that I will not take part in my opponent’s version oa “clean campaign.” On the contrary, I will continue torun a clean and attack ree campaign that any lielongresident o Montana would be proud o.  I am not running or office to set mysel up or acareer in politics, I am running or this office because Ibelieve I can make Montana better or the good peopleo this district. I have built a lie here on the Hi-Line. Iwas here long beore I started my campaign, and I willbe here long aferward.

    Good job Chase!

    Mary Anne NOLAND

Faced with theprospect o voting oreither Donald rumpor Hillary Clinton,

Mary Anne Nolando Richmond chose, instead, to pass intothe eternal love o Godon Sunday, May 15,2016, at the age o 68.  Born in Danville,Va., Mary Anne was a graduate o Douglas FreemanHigh School (1966) and the University o VirginiaSchool o Nursing (1970). A aithul child o God,

Mary Anne devoted her lie to sharing the loveshe received rom Christ with all whose lives shetouched as a wie, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, riend and nurse....

he above obituary that was initially thought tobe an Internet hoax turned out to be real. Accordingto local (Virginia) news reports, the writer o theobituary was the son o the deceased.  he obituary was wildly popular on social media, but many viewers who encountered this clippingwere skeptical about its authenticity. Ater all, akeobituaries slamming politicians are not unheard o.his obituary, however, is genuine in the sense thatit was published in the Richmond Dispatch  on 17May 2016.  According to the Dispatch:

Woman claims she chose to die rather than vote for Trump or Clinton  “Paid death notices are vignettes about a person’life, as told by their family or friends. This isn’t the first time a paid death notice has been used to send a personal message to the world. Some have commentedon favorite sports teams, places to visit, a drink ofchoice and, yes, politics.

All content published in The Times-Dispatch ireviewed before publication. In the case of Ms. Nolandobituary, we’re not surprised by the response.”   Mary Anne Noland’s obituary relects a tonguein-cheek political statement about the upcomingpresidential election that her amily members orriends chose to insert into it; the obituary doesn’literally state that she opted to kill hersel ratherthan have to make a choice between the two leadingcandidates.

he Richmond Dispatch also pointed out that the

obituary or Mary Anne Noland was not the irst tomention politics. he obituary or Ernest OverbeyJr., or instance, ended with a call to “please vote orDonald rump.” Similarly, the obituary or KatherineMichael Hinds said that “in lieu o lowers, do not vote or Donald rump.”
