Welcome to St. Bernard’s Parish Fifth Sunday of Easter

May 18th, 2014

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Expressing our love of Jesus Christ through the Eucharist, enlightened by the Holy Spirit, and by living the will of the Father, we gather as one family, rich in culture and tradition, willing to share our gifts with all, and working together as we journey to the kingdom of God.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

(Adoration Chapel located in Convent behind Church)

“The only time our Lord asked the Apostles for anything was the night He went into agony. Not for activity did He plead but for an Hour of companionship.”

-Archbishop Fulton Sheen

We are in need of adorers on Wednesdays at 5pm. To become an adorer or to inquire, call Anita Laspina (English) @ 835-3173 or Cecilia Garcia (Spanish) @ 346-3372.

Priests’ Retreat

Our priests will be on retreat this week: May 19th to May 23rd. Join us in prayer that this time will be a source of grace and renewal for them.

Father’s Day

The role of a Father is as important as the Mother. The Fa-ther is to support and maintain the family through the work of his hands and to protect those he loves. Fathers are to help their children find solid support for their dignity and for their growth in truth and love within the embrace of their home.

On Father’s Day, all Masses will include the Mass Intention: “All fathers, living and deceased”

Envelopes honoring the names of our fathers will be placed in a basket & lovingly displayed near the Altar at the Church and at the Holy Family Center for the week-end. These names will appear in the bulletin Father’s Day weekend. If you would like to have your father remembered, living or deceased, please drop by the Parish Office to fill out the Father’s Day envelope. A $10.00 donation is appreciated for each name. The deadline is June 6th by 5:00 p.m.

Second Offering

Catholic Charities Sunday is today.

Today our Parish is participating in Catholic Charities Sunday. Catholic Chari-ties is our Church’s outreach to the most vulnerable families in our community. Through your contribu-tion to Catholic Charities, we will be able to provide services to over 26,000 vulnerable people this year. Your help is needed more than ever. One hundred percent of your contribution stays in this community. On behalf of the thousands of individuals and fami-lies served by Catholic Charities, thank you for providing “Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow.” Thank you!
