This monthly event honors the volunteers of Fort Drum at a small ceremony held at the Commons. Jane Bresko 772-2899 Save money when you learn how to do it yourself. The Automotive Skills Center offers basic car care and repair classes on Thursday evenings. This class is mandatory for patrons wishing to use the emissions tester to find out why that check engine light appears. Mike Graveline 772-2832 You and your will partner learn practical and effective talking and listening skills for better decision-making and conflict resolution. Tia Seals 772-0593 This event Provides sports training and athletic competition for individuals with conditions or disabilities. Events will be held at several venues on Fort Drum and especially in the Pine Plains Complex area. Sharon Chapel 772-5476 Beginning at the Watertown High School parking lot, proceeding north on Washington Street to the reviewing stand in front of the Dulles State Office Building on to Stone Street where units will disband. Marching units, firefighters, music and more. [email protected] This is a Two-Person Captain and Crew tournament held at Willowbrook Golf Club on NYS RT 37 in Watertown. Tournament is open to all Active Duty Military Personnel assigned or attached to Fort Drum, Family Members 19 years of age or older possessing a valid Military ID Card, and DoD Civilian Personnel employed on Fort Drum. Sign up at the Sports Office by May 18. There will be snacks, crafts, and games all with a Star Wars theme. Dress as your favorite Jedi, Sith, Droid, or Wookie. This is destined to be force-fully good fun. Allen Goudie 772-9099 Fort Drum Teens can enjoy the moveable skate park with inline or quad skates or skateboards at the Youth Center. The cost is $3 for Youth Center members and $5 for non-members. Membership is open to Fort Drum Teens in grades 7 – 12 and is free. Save the Dates! Fort Drum’s Special Events: US Army Soldier Show – World-class performances by the US Army’s most talented Soldiers. This evening performance at Magrath Sports Complex Gymnasium will be given at 6 pm on May 29. The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families - Family and MWR in partnership with the USO is proud to present The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families on June 5 and 6 at Monti Physical Fitness Center. Sesame Street is bringing the furry, fuzzy and friendly Muppets to Military Families around the world with a visit to Fort Drum with two shows presented each day at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. At these shows your family will meet Katie, a Military kid on Sesame Street who is moving to a new place and learn how she and her friends cope with this change. Free Tickets for these shows are available through your Military Unit, CYS Services, the USO beginning May 24. Please call CYSS Parent Central Services at 772-8675 if you need more information. Riverfest – Enjoy a day on the Saint Lawrence River in the village of Alexandria Bay including a boat tour of the Thousand Islands, visit to Heart Island and Boldt Castle, Lunch, children’s amusements and fun on June 21with tickets on sale from your Brigade Unit Representative soon. Mountainfest – A great day of food, activities, Salute to the Nation, games, and free Concert featuring Jake Owens with opening act TJ Murphy on Division Hill, June 28.
