There is no monster more ubiquitous to gaming than the noble slime.

No matter what genre you play, or setting you tromp through, chances are you’ve run into, and run through at least a half dozen of these creatures.

The slime lives its life near the home of most adventurers completely unawares to the horrible mass-murder that is about to be committed to their ilk, but a slime

continues to smile and live their slimy life.

What secrets does this creature belie? What hitherto unknown worlds do they hold beneath their stoic expressions of blind joy, or gelatinous frames?

In this game, you will explore the world of the Slime, in a way never done before.

See through the eyes of these monsters, like never expressed, and live a life that you did not know existed.

Perhaps next time you won’t slay them all so callously…then again, +5 EXP is pretty nice…

To play a game of ‘A Week in the Life of a Lv. 1 Slime’ you will need the following

items.

1 Bag of Candies (Any kind will do, as long as there are at least 3 different colours.)

~7 Pieces of Paper + Pens/Pencils

1 Slime Sheet (Enclosed)

SECTION 1 – WORLD SETUP

The first thing you are going to need to play this game is a bag of candies. Make sure that you have ~37. More is okay, but any less and you’ll have to get a few more.

(These can also be substituted with pennies, poker chips, gems, or whatever you’d like. However the author of this book would like to remind everyone that eating anything but candies is not part of the game. Just because you are playing as a slime, doesn’t mean you can eat like one.)

Open up your bag, and sort your candies into piles based on their colour. This is important, as each colour will represent a few things, detailed below. After sorting your candies, note how many of each colour you have. Be sure to write this down, as you’ll reference it once each ‘day’, mostly to see what your chances are for certain events to happen.

Each colour, in order from the most common to the least common represents a level of severity of the day’s actions.

For instance, you have;

33 Red Candies

25 Purple

19 Yellow

18 Green

And 17 Orange.

In that exact order is how difficult their colour represents

An Average Day (Red)

A Tough Day (Purple)

A Chaotic Day (Yellow)

A Minor Crisis (green)

A Major Crisis (Orange)

Etc.

If you have a tie between two colours, just eat one! There’s no mechanical bonus to doing so,

but it makes it easier to run the game.

Next, take a moment to think about your Slime, and correlate which colours represent what your slime’s hopes and fears are.

Perhaps the colour Red might represent the fear of a Hero coming in and ruining your slime’s day? Or maybe the colour blue might stand for a lady slime that yours has affections for? Be sure to note an equal amount for hopes and fears, likes and dislikes, and do one for each available colour. Fill them out in the bottom Bubble of the Slime Sheet included with this document.

Each ‘day’ you will be drawing a certain number of candies from your tray. If a colour has a

majority, then that day’s difficulty becomes the one that the colour represents. If you do not have a majority, ‘discard’ them back to the tray and draw a new set.

You must work each colour drawn into your entry for the day, as well as fitting the thematic difficulty that they are under.

For Example: It is Bounce Day, so you draw 3 candies. You get Red, Red, and Yellow. Since Red is the most abundant, the day is just your average, slice-of-life day.

Since Red also represents your slime’s smitten-ness over another slime, you’ll have to base the day around that. Additionally, Yellow represents the fear of an Adventurer tromping into your village, so perhaps your day would be about your slime rising up against a wandering Adventurer to save the slime he has affections for?

Make sure to work in everything as well as you can, but since this is an entirely creative endeavor, it’s okay to muss with it, as long as you are having fun, in the end.

SECTION 2 – SLIME CREATION

Take an enclosed Slime Sheet, and place it in front of you. Note the different speech-bubbles that represent the slime’s abilities, type, and how many of each candy they’ve eaten.

The first thing you’ll want to do in Slime Creation is to assign colours to your three stats;

Bounciness

The ability to bounce really well! Your slime’s malleability and ability to recover

after something bad happens. However, your

bounciness also envelopes your heart, and your will to push on, even if the Adventurer

is 20 levels higher than you are.

Gooeyness

Your slime’s toughness and stamina! The more goo you have, the stronger you are, the

braver and harder you are. The more goo you have, the gooier you are! All the

greatest slimes start from a big ‘ol stack of goo!

Sliminess

Your slime’s ability to be what a slime is best! A slime! Every slime has to be as

slime-like as possible, and the more points you have in it, the more points you are! Slimes are sticky when they need to be,

slippery when they can be, and all around fun-loving slimy slimes.

Each stat must have one colour at minimum, and every colour must be accounted for. This may lead to a stat having only one while the rest have two, or vice versa. Do not be worried if this happens, it’s bound to unless you play with a multiple of 3 colours.

After assigning your stats their colours, now it is time to draw 3 candies from the tray! Note their colours, and place them back in the tray after. Each stat that corresponds to those colours gets a point for each you drew! This may lead to a completely even line, or one stat getting all three points, but that’s how it has to be. Some slimes are just special that way…

During the game if you eat a candy of a colour, you gain a point in the corresponding stat. Keep this in mind as the week progresses, and you can see your slime getting stronger and stronger!

Finally, pull one last candy from the tray, this candy represents not only your slime’s colouration, but also their favourite kind of sweet! Eat it, as to not put it back in the tray. Whenever you (your slime) eats a candy of their favourite type, they get one extra point to put in any stat they want. However, they only get one bonus point a day in this way. Do so now for the one you just ate…isn’t the life of a slime wonderful?

SECTION 3 - CHALLENGES

At the start of a new day, check the following chart and draw that number of candies, these represent the type of day, and the challenges that the day envelops.

Day of the Week # of Candies

Bounce Day (1) 3

Smoosh Day (2) 4

Rolling Day (3) 5

Gurgles Day (4) 5

Stretch! Day (5) 5

Sleepy Day (6) 6

Pre-Bounce Day (7) 7

The type of challenge and what it consists of is entirely based on what you chose from the first section of this book.

The severity of the situations within the day is based on whatever colour has the majority. Additionally, the type of challenges or situations is based on what colours make up the draw you did for the day.

For example: You draw candies for Rolling Day, revealing Two Greens, One Red, and One Blue.

The difficulty or severity of the day is based off of the colour Green, while the events therein are based off of Green, Red, and Blue.

If you do not have a majority leader in a colour, ‘discard’ the candies back into the tray and draw again.

SECTION 4 – OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

Each day’s challenges are based off of colours, just as your slime’s stats are. Note which stats are assigned to which colours, and compare them to the number that you just drew.

If your stats number is less than the number of the associated colour this day, your slime has failed that challenge. Alternatively, if it is equal to or greater, then they succeed!

If you succeed at a challenge, take those candies off to the side. At the end of the day, you get to eat all of the candies for the challenges you overcame! Also, if you successfully beat all the challenges in a day, you get another candy of your slime’s favourite type. Go slime, go!

If you fail all of the challenges in a given day, then you must mark the day’s entry with a black ‘X’ near the top.

[Sidebar : The Black X] – Note, that with the tone of your game, having a failed attempt may mean different things. This is entirely up to you as a player to determine what the black X means, or what accumulating them does. Anything as simple as adding an additional number of candies you have to draw on subsequent days, to having your poor slime fall in battle. These are your decisions as the player.

SECTION 5 – EXTRA NOTES

As you play through Lv1 Slime, you’ll wind up creating your own narrative, however, in this section I’ll share a few of my own ideas for

story arcs, or maybe some simple little hooks to get you going if you don’t know what to do.

The Slime that Loved Another

In this ‘scenario’ your slime is in love with another slime, and he’s tried everything he can

do to get with her. However, she has only rebuffed his affections time and time again.

Perhaps this week is his chance to get with the slime-girl of his dreams? Only fate will tell…

Final What, Boss Now?

Sometimes the final boss is just starting out, and needs some allies to build up his armies! In this scenario, your slime has been recruited by the

Dark Lord EvilDeath’s army, and must fight off adventurers, protect powerful treasures, or deal

with every day issues, like getting the Dark Lord his coffee!

Life’s Tough in this Volcano…

Your slime just so happens to be living in one of the most foreboding of all environments, can

your slime live in this desolate heat? And what about the shrine maiden living just outside

wanting to ‘banish all monsters’?

Living in the City!

You and your slime friends have just moved into the big city, and have to deal with all the urban dangers, as well as anyone who wants to get rid

of slimes, just because they’re slimes!

Can your slime survive the week, AND find the nearest mini-mart?

A Week in the Life of a Slime Colony

Why not make a small smattering of slimes and live all of their lives together? You can do

several entries for one day’s pull, and see how all the different slimes interact.

They can even help each other with the tougher challenges! Can your slime village band together

against the Adventurers?

A Month in the Life of a Lv. 1 Slime

If you’d like to live out some more days, feel free to continue on! Your slime should be good

and powerful, so you’ll need to keep adding candies to the list to make it more challenging.

To make a day challenging, add 3 to the total number of candies your slime has eaten, and

draw that many!

Who gave that slime a tank?!

Your slime has stumbled upon a massive weapon of war! A giant tank that he and his

buddies can live on.

Will your slime ride off into the sunset with his newfound destruction incarnate? Or will he

wage war on the Adventurers that have plagued him for so long? You decide!

It’s time to kick butt and chew slime… and I’m all outta slimes…

For whatever reason, slimes have been hunted to near extinction. Find out what happened to all of your contemporaries as you bounce through the demon’s den of adventurers and other nefarious

places!

You’re gonna go far, Slime!
