Autoclavable drives

Autoclaving – What does it mean?Sterilisation process using steam, temperature and pressure to eliminate micro-organisms, viruses and germs in medical applications.

Standard autoclave condition for medical application:134°C; 2.3bar; saturated atmosphere.(used for internal tests, duration of one cycle 20min.)For instruments (dental): 121°C; 1bar; 15 to 30min.

Autoclavable Drives Lifetime

The number of possible autoclave cycles is very much dependant on mounting conditions – how much the motor is exposed to steam (encapsulation).Autoclave treatment damages the molecular structure of the grease in the bearings. Bearing lifetime is shorter than normal.
