Pre Maximo Asset/Maintenance Management at Dnata.- All asset and maintenance activities were managed through completely manual

processes.

- These processes included:

Fault logging.Maintenance planning and scheduling. Work-order management. Job costing. Maintenance of equipment master and historical records. Replacement analysis. Report generation.

- As a direct consequence of the manual process, activity duplication was the norm to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

- Oracle ERP Inventory module was used for Spare Parts requisitioning – issue and purchase.

- Spare parts were not linked to asset and the inventory transactions did not relate to equipment or job.

Maximo Middle East User Conference 2008

Pre Maximo Asset/Maintenance Management at Dnata.

- All reports were generated by relying on paper based documents and were generally

never real time.

- Reliance on the manual system lead to delayed invoicing.

- Users were not able to track their service request status.

- Multiple point of contact with users.

- Each asset had its history card or file, which had to be referred to check last maintenance

dates, the maintenance type and then generate the next schedule cycle.

- On completion of maintenance, the work-order details had to be updated manually in the

relevant file/history card. This was a labor intensive activity with duplication of tasks and

many man-hours were needed.

Maximo Middle East User Conference 2008

Why we selected Maximo- Effective lifecycle management demands access to accurate, up-to-date information.

- To enhance the services provided by DNATA Technical Services workshops to the operating departments of DNATA Airport Operations, DNATA Cargo, Emirates Sky Cargo, Emirates Engineering, Emirates Flight Catering (EFCC) and various external customers.

- To support the maintenance management functions:

Maintenance planning and scheduling.Work-order management.Spares inventory management.Real-time report generation.Accurate maintenance costing and allocation.Capability of interfacing with other systems like – Resource Management, Equipment Tracking and Allocation, Time & Attendance etc.Eliminating the duplication of paper-based (manual) record keeping and logging

- Each of these areas represents an opportunity to improve efficiency, reduce costs and optimize asset performance.

- MRO SOFTWARE MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR A SINGLE SOLUTION SUITE BUILT ON MAXIMO 5.2 TO MANAGE ALL OF THESE.
