� IT decision makers are equally as likely to consume/review reports
prepared by others (46%), as they are to investigate data for trends
and business insights (46%) or to leverage tools to build
dashboards/queries (45%).
� IT also reports high levels of involvement with data
mining/statistical analysis (41%) and building of reporting
applications for others (40%).

� 75% agree that “In my organization, information is used to align
our strategic goals with our day-to-day activities and processes by
providing easily accessible and relevant information to all
employees on a regular basis.”
� 69% agree that “My organization is committed to helping our
customers and partners make better decisions and as such shares

not only relevant data, but also analytics with customers/partners
to create greater alignment and value.”
� 68% agree that “My organization views investments in
information management as being on par with investments in
other tangible assets, effectively leveraging information for
competitive advantage.”
The reality
� The majority of organizations regularly solicit feedback about
information delivery preferences from:
� executive management (82%),
� mid-level management (83%)
� knowledge workers (70%)

� but less frequently from:
� operational/front-line employees (55%),
� customers (51%),
� external partners (41%), and
� suppliers (34%).
� Most organizations still concentrate their focus on delivering
information to the top tier of employees – executive
management, mid-level management and knowledge
workers.
The information delivery approach….
When asked which of two approaches would deliver a better user experience and
more adoption:
� 55% chose “powerful analytic tools for users to perform ad hoc analysis”, while
� 45% selected “an app store experience with a selection of information apps to
answer business questions with point and click”.
