Use a model M22 in residential and light industrial areas where background noise is relatively high and constant. The need for higher degrees of silencing should be minimal.
Example: In residential neighborhoods having high traffic or light industry with relatively constant background noise. Residents in these areas are typically accustomed to the noise or make some efforts to shield themselves from the ever present background noise. Use of an M22 can keep engine exhaust noise within existing levels.

Maxim line ILM-15 silencers will provide good silencing when properly installed with pressure reducing valves and on centrifugal compressor discharges. These silencers are fabricated in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1.
The ILM model utilizes a slightly higher pressure drop than the ILL. This design reduces the ILM package size without significantly sacrificing acoustical performance.
• Pressure reducing valves• Centrifugal compressor discharges
• Advanced acoustical design• All welded construction and long service life• Easily installed in any position• Prime coated exterior finish
• Flanged inlet and outlet connections• Metallic wool packing• Various support arrangements• Special paint• Stainless steel construction

IAC Acoustics Catalytic Silencer Systems are available in both three-way (NOx, CO, NMHC) and oxidation (CO, NMHC)
THREE-WAY FOR RICH BURN HIGH TEMPERATURE ENGINES
MCC —Catalytic reactor constructed of all carbon steel and provides industrial grade silencing
MCCS—Catalytic silencer constructed of all carbon steel and provides hospital grade silencing
OXIDATION FOR LEAN BURNING LOW TEMPERATURE ENGINES
MCCO—Catalytic reactor constructed of carbon steel and provides industrial grade silencing
MCCOS—Catalytic silencer constructed of carbon steel and provides hospital grade silencing
IAC Acoustics three-way and oxidation catalytic / silencer systems are the most comprehensive in the marketplace
• Designed for larger horsepower engines (e.g. CAT 3600 series and CM34 series)• Maximizes emission and noise compliance• 100% in-house design and construction• Guaranteed emission reductions• Heaviest duty unit in today’s market• Easy access to the catalyst—one person can service unit• Engineered size and design meet spacing requirements• More than 100 years experience with
silencing design and manufacturing• Change elements at grade level• Large two element or multiple smaller element configuration• Most importantly, we comprehensively provide exhaust heat recovery, silencing and emission control exhaust systems
An inlet baffle plate diverts the engine exhaust flow from a direct path through the catalyst bed helping to reduce damage from engine backfires.
The catalyst monolithic panels allow gas to pass through herringbone channels for maximum contact, producing greater emission reduction efficiency.
The catalytic unit has an access door installed on the end of the converter allowing for easy access to the catalyst bed without disconnecting the exhaust piping or compromising the integrity of the unit.
Couplings are installed in the inlet and outlet neck of the catalytic unit for sampling ports per EPA and TCEQ guidelines.
