The sound of the drums beat to the flying rhythm of the Tavake bird, known throughout the Pacific as being the bird that led our ancient navigators to new land.

APARIMAThe dances of the Tuamotus called the Aparima,celebrates the skills of the great fisherman, which werepassed down through generations and transferred to Hawai‘i through migration.

The classic tale of romance from French Polynesia. The woman is compared to the sweet scented Tiare flower of Tahiti. Her purity of white and delicate slender hands are reminiscent of the Tahitian white gardenia.

HALEAKALA HULA - MauiUtilizing the traditional ti leaf skirt called the la‘i, and traditional Hawaiian implements called the pu’ili (split bamboo), our women perform a proud song named for Maui’s great and majestic mountain peak, Haleakala.

THREE-MAN FIRE KNIFE DANCERooted in the traditional Samoan ailao, or battle dance, our warriors come forward twirling their battle knives in flames of fire. Known as the most dangerous dance in all of Polynesia, this spectacular three-man fire knife dance incorporates ancient battle moves using knives set ablaze.

KAHIKO - Ka‘anapali, MauiIn ancient times, Maka‘iwa, the name of the areawhere Sunset Terrace now sits, was governed bythe owl goddess, Wahine Pe‘e, who reunited loversseparated by battle.
