Maui Mall is located in Kahului, the commercial hub of Maui. Located in Central Maui,
it is situated on Hana Hwy and Hwy 32 (two of the most heavily traveled roads in
Kahului and one of the main routes to the west side of the island for visitors who

HAWAII TOURISM UPDATE
The Hawai’i Tourism Industry established new records in total visitor spending and visitor
arrivals in 2017. This marked the sixth straight year of record growth in both categories.
Altogether, a record total of 9,382,986 visitors were welcomed to Hawai’i in 2017, a 5.0%
increase over 2016, producing a record total of $16.78 billion in visitor expenditures, an
increase of 6.2% year over year. Total visitor days for 2017 grew 4.7% and, on average,
there were 230,113 visitors in the Hawaiian Islands on any given day (average daily
census), an increase of 5.0% year over year. All four Hawaiian Islands realized growth
in visitor spending, visitor days and arrivals in 2017 compared to 2016. Maui showed
a growth in both arrivals (4.1% to 2,742,108 visitors) and visitor expenditures (5.2% to
$4.76 billion) compared to 2016.
