Four Seasons ResortSince 1987, Maui has been a favorite of ours. OCA held its annual convention at this very same resort in 2000 and 2005 and our members have held this as one of the top convention locations. This gorgeous beachfront resort is situated along the golden crescent of Wailea Beach. It is a five-minute drive from three of the island’s finest golf courses, and less than a mile from the luxury boutiques and restaurants of The Shops at Wailea. In July 2019, Forbes Travel Guide named this resort as having one of “The World’s Most Beautiful Hotel Pools.”

Note on rooms: OCA’s contract with the Four Seasons Resort provides us with Standard Rooms ($529 + taxes/fees = approximately $605 per night) that include: Mountain Side, Garden View, Deluxe Garden View, and Ocean View, as available upon arrival. If you would like to guarantee a specific room category and view, you can do this at an additional cost when you make your reservations and based upon availability (see #2 under “Making Your Reservations” on the next page). A two-night deposit will be required with your reservation. Rooms are not all-inclusive. You will find room descriptions on the Four Seasons’ website at www.fourseasons.com/maui/accommodations/#guest_rooms.

Extending Your StayOCA’s contract with the resort allows up to three days pre and post convention dates at the same rate as our contract, based upon availability.

Resort Room UpgradesA limited number of upgrades may be available, and are listed as available on the website when you make your reservations. Contact Room Reservations if you are interested in additional upgrade options that are not shown - [email protected] - 808-874-8000.

Optional Excursions We have a nice variety of sea and land excursions that will be e-mailed to you. Please be aware that there are no refunds for canceling past deadlines, depending upon the excursion. Contact OCA for assistance if you must cancel.

Greetings! Enclosed is your invitation to the OCA Annual Convention in Maui, Hawaii. Rated one of the top convention locations by our membership, this is our third convention at the Four Seasons. Included with this invitation is a Registration Form and Member Information document. This information is either needed by OCA, the Four Seasons, or our travel partner, Weil & Associates. A sponsorship form is included and we hope that you will consider being a sponsor. We very much appreciate our sponsors that help us keep our costs down while providing additional services. Our contract with the Four Seasons is for their Standard Rooms (which is a variety of 4 room types). You can guarantee a room type and view, if available, but there is an additional cost. See the invitation for details. There may be other upgrades available, but not shown on the website. For on-line room descriptions, visit: www.fourseasons.com/maui/accommodations/#guest_rooms. A two-page resort map is also included if you need help in deciding on a room type. If you have a question, I will be happy to help you, or you can contact the Four Seasons Reservations Department directly for more detailed information about room types and views, reservations and upgrades ([email protected], 808-874-8000). We will be ready to greet you when you arrive on Wednesday, January 29. It’s a long flight, so we will serve food and beverages when you arrive, and allow everyone to spend the rest of the day on their own with no scheduled events. The deadline for reservations and full registration payment is Friday, November 22. We have a contracted block of rooms and when they are all reserved, we will only be able to access more if they are available, so reserving early is a good idea. If you recall, we ran out of rooms in Hawaii two years ago. To save on printing and postage costs, we will send our optional excursions via e-mail. If you have any questions, please call me. I’ll be happy to help in any way that I can. Sincerely, Rachel Sirca Ohio Contractors Association 614-309-3713 [email protected]

OCA Theme Event Thursday, January 30, 2020

5:15 – 9:30 pm

Olowalu Plantation Estate

This trip is part of your OCA package and there will be no additional cost to attend.

From ancient times, Olowalu was considered a place of refuge, or pi'u honua, by Hawaiians and many often describe it as a magical place. Adjacent to the plantation house was the Olowalu Sugar Company, founded in 1864 as an endeavor of Kamehameha V and later purchased by Pioneer Mill. The sugar mill was constructed in the 1870's to process the harvested sugar cane, along with the landing for sugar transportation, passenger transit, mail and freight. The mill was dismantled in 1933, however, the ruins are still visible from the house. The residence was built in 1922 for the manager and his family and was also considered the community gathering place. The sugar plantation consisted of 700 acres, worked mainly by immigrants, and was a working plantation with the last harvest in 1998. When Pioneer Mill sold the property, the new owners were determined to maintain the historical sites and provide community access. As a result, the property is available for special events such as ours. We will enjoy a relaxing and warm reception, fantastic buffet dinner and be entertained by local dancers.
