Pharisees the most religious.

(1) Did not say their

“religion”! (a) Motions to

please God.

(i) If we are right with the Lord.

c) What eternity is like.

(1) Matthew 5:5 (a) Yet to be fulfilled

(i) Dealing with self.

(ii) His disciples and the Law.

II. Matthew 5:13-16 

A. Salt retards corruption!

1. Christians “retard” the corruption in the world!

a) satan will have to work harder to

win.b) Christians” add

flavor to the world!

(1) The Word of God is our “food”.

(2) “Salt and pepper Christians” make

the Word come alive!

(3) Christians who lost flavor not

worth much!(a) Witness is worthless.

B. Example of light.

1. On Mt. Of Olives you see lights of the city.a) Jesus used what

was before him.(1) You are to be

lights in the dark!”

(a) Isaiah 29:15

(2) Light “illuminates”(a) Christ in a believers life should

not be hidden!(b) What do you do

when power is out?

(i) You sit it up high!

2. Verse 16 a) Bottom line?

(1) We don’t have to be ashamed of the Lord!

(2) Being a Christian doesn’t make us perfect!

(a) Salvation brings good works!

(i) James 2:14-20 (ii) About Jesus”

“performing through us”!

III. Matthew 5:17-20

A. Jesus was the FULFILMENT!

1. Everything written was about Him!

2. Every prophecy about Him.3. Every law!

4. Every article in the Temple.

5. Every sacrifice to prove need for a permanent sacrifice.

a) HE would fulfill it in ALL ways!

b) He would protect and fulfill the

Law!

B. Scribes and Pharisees most religious folks?

1. They in no way representing the Lord!

a) Verse 20

IV. CONCLUSION

A. Represent Him properly!

1. Wanted a “relationship”a) Do you love Jesus? b) Above all others?c) Above all things?d) So His light shines in

your life for others to see?
