Recognize and identify numeral 0 to 5 4. Read and write numeral 0 to 5 following the correct stroke. 5.Match numerals to a set of concrete objects from 0 to 5 6. Count the number of objects accurately. Day 1 A. Preparatory Activities Warm-up Activity: –Let them sing the Number song” - Ask: What is the song all about? What is your favorite number? Why? Motivation: - Let them play the game, “The boat is sinking” to check their prior knowledge about numbers. -Ask: Did you enjoy the game? We will have more fun and activities so relax, stay tune and focus! B. Developmental Activities Materials: 11 empty wide mouthed plastic jars, toy cars, pants, shirt, balls, books, number cards, picture cards, pocket chart) -Let’s start our lesson with a short story. Ken’s Messy Room Ken’s room was a mess! There were toy cars and balls on the floor. There were books by the

door. There were pants and shirt on the bed. Ken’s dad said, “This room is a pig pen! Clean it now!” He was not happy. Ken got work. He made his bed. He put his trucks in the toy box. He put his books away. He folded the pants and put them away. When Ken’s dad came back. “You did a great job!” he said. Now, ken and his dad were both happy.

Ask the following questions: 1. What objects were found scattered on Ken’s room? (toy cars, books, pants, shirt, balls ) 2. What did Ken’s dad say when he saw the mess? (This room is a pig pen! Clean it now!) 3. How did Ken’s dad feel when he saw the mess in Ken’s room? ( He felt angry) 4. How did Ken’s dad feel when he saw that Ken cleaned his room? (He felt happy and glad) 5. If you are Ken, do you wish to have a messy room? Why? (Answers may vary) 6. What did you learn from our short story? (I learned to clean and organize my things just like

what Ken did.)

-Now I have here a box with different objects inside. Just like what Ken did in the story, would you help

Foldable- Distribute the foldable and ask them to draw objects that corresponds to the given number.

2. Let them read the labeled containers and instruct them to place the objects inside separately. 3. Ask the pupils to count properly the objects in each jar. 4. From the numbers posted on the whiteboard, ask them to pick the number that corresponds to the

objects and paste it in the jar. 5. The teacher gets the other jar with nothing inside. Ask: What number could it be? (zero). Bring out

the zero numeral and give it to the pupil who answered correctly. 6. Tel them “I think there’s a problem with the arrangement of the numbers. Will you help me arrange

these numbers properly?” 7. Ask volunteer pupils to arrange the labeled jars accordingly. 8. Let the pupils read and name the objects in correct order.

9. Let the pupils count forward and backward from memory up to 5 through a song. Count to Write Activity Show the picture cards and ask volunteer pupils to count and write the numeral that corresponds to

the picture.C. Concluding Activities -Ask, ‘Why do we need to count? Why is counting important?

Assignment A. Practice reading and counting number words 0-5.

11. Distribute the laminated paper whiteboard (with markers) and instruct the pupils to draw the objects that the teacher is about to say. The teacher checks their answers for corrections.1. Dot Card Game- 2 groups of pupils will race in front for counting the dots in the card.-The first group who first got three (3) correct answers is the winner.
